I use these for when I work on mosaics. They hold my work in progress so I can move and contain all my pieces.

I use a silicone lid (Everie) with the 12qt. Rubbermaid container that I use for Sous Vide. But I wanted to use a smaller container for occasions when I have only one or two steaks to cook. I bought the 6qt. Rubbermaid container for that purpose, and it works great, but Everie does not make a lid to fit. This LDPE lid from Rubbermaid is not as flexible as the silicone lid, but it works just fine, with a little modification. As shown in the photo, I used a 2.125" hole saw to cut a hole near the proper edge of the lid. I then used a bandsaw to cut a passage to this hole from the edge of the lid. Easy-peasy, took me all of five minutes and the result looks factory made.

These are good replacement lids for your Rubbermaid containers. These will not fit Cambro and other manufacturers similar NSF type containers. Let me state that these are not as tight fitting as the originals but, are easier to install as well as remove. The lids will fail much sooner than the containers as anyone with any food service experience knows. I have a few extra on hand for when the lids start to crack and fail.

I bought this to go with the 8 quart clear, square container [FG630800CLR] and it fits tightly once you have been careful to snap down each corner. Small external ridges (you may want to look at the picture on the page showing the container) on the upper corners of the container itself make it appear as if the lid will not go on properly, but it does (and the container & lid are not exactly square, so if you have it oriented incorrectly it also looks as if it won't fit--even though I already knew this, from the dimensions and also from one of the reviews, it still surprised me and for a second I thought I had received the wrong lid! Happy! (though I wish the lids just came with the container)

I've been using these for maybe 8 years or so - I just made my third order a few weeks ago. These are awesome! They, of course, fit the commercial rubbermaid storage containers. They're flexible and durable. The best thing - one size for most of the storage bins! No more looking for tops! Notes about them: - The only time I've had one break is when I pulled it out of the bottom of the deep freeze (-20 deg F) and the top snapped when I was pulling it off the container. I do this all the time and it's only happened once however. - They get stiff in cold temperatures - They do not make a air-tight seal. It's close, but not 100% - Like many plastics, they do get stained by tomato sauce.

THESE ARE WONDERFUL RUBBERMAID CONTAINERS FOR STORAGE. THE LIDS FIT VERY WELL AND I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED.

I use this with my feet, (Lay a towel inside the tray and sprinkle foot powder on each foot) tray captures any extra powder. I apply powder each day and just slide it under the bed. A very sturdy product, works well. It would be very universal product, can see this having many different uses.

For a plastic container top, it's as good as any. The only reason I gave it a 3 star was that I ordered it at the same time I ordered a large Rubbermaid container to use for a sous vide. The top was "recommended" with the container. Unfortunately, I didn't review the dimensions of the top before I ordered it. It did not fit the container.
