Very light, very mobile, looks cute
It tells you the wind speed as well as the temperature. I bought it for my drone so I can check the wind speed as well as the temperature of the location. I can not comment about the accuracy as it doesn't come with a calibration certificate so you will need to check it with your friend if they happen to have one which is calibrated, but for general use I am sure it does what it is designed for. You can take off the orange protective cover if you prefer the stealth black colour look but the orange cover does offer some protection to the meter in case you drop it on hard surface. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone. Hope this helps!

Does what it said in the description.
Product arrived a day late but that was not the items fault. Unit was a little awkward to get open to insert the battery, the instructions could have been better but other reviews of this item helped, it has a rubberised skin that has to be peeled off to expose the hard plastic unit inside after that step it is all plain sailing. Unit is simple to operate, fires up instantly and displays the wind speed on the LCD display on the front. I tend to hold it up in the air to get a correct reading which makes reading the display tricky but no big deal. For the money this is brilliant, it would be good to have a case with it but being careful is a small price to pay.

The jury's out
Nice and compact, but I'm not too sure how accurate it is. I used it on a breezy day and it told me that the wind speed was 4mph. I would have estimated that the wind speed was at least double, although on another occasion it matched a similar item owned by a friend ( but was his inaccurate as well ? )

Effective Wind Gauge
Bought this for my son as part of his summer school project. He used it to record data for the strength of wind. Worked well and he was able to use it with ease.It came with some useful instructions that were easy to follow to assist with the set up. The buttons are simple to follow and came with a handy strap. I was impressed with the accuracy of it too. Great quirky tool to record the wind.

It does what I want - reads wind speed and says how cold I am
I just wanted a quick way of checking wind speed for drone flying. It works and is easy to use and little more to add.I note that the package came with a very large battery warning label with advisories of what to do if it catches fire in transit. It is actually a coin sized CR2032 battery the like of which is used in all manner of home devices like desktop computers! Health and safety strikes again!

It eats batteries, without it being on!
I bought this a while ago, it worked well and did way it was made for, however I noticed that each time I used it, say after a few days, the battery would be flat, even though it was not switched on.So unless you want to keep changing the battery, or taking it out after each use, I would not bother.I have spent more money replacing the CR2032 battery, than it actually cost me to buy it!

As a simple wind metre it's a little blinder.
Simple to use and seems to give consistent and accurate readings when run alongside my Kestrel (6 x the price).Great for calculating hold or for general usage. The snug little rubber cover it fits into is a nice touch too.

Light, easy to use but impossible to judge its accuracy.
This is the second one of these I’ve had, the first got drenched in a storm and expired. I use this when hiking in the hills but only for interest and not for any scientific purposes. I have my doubts about the wind speed accuracy but have no means of checking it.
