Does this product work well for making magnetic putty for older kids' projects? Thank you :-)

That's exactly what I used it for. Just to be clear.... It does not turn the putty into a magnet, it becomes magnetic. So magnets will stick to it but magnetic things will not. You have to use A LOT of the powder but it's pretty cool.

Will this work for making ferrofluid?

Possibly, but you would be better off using micronised synthetic magnetite. We stock this material, but it is not yet part of our Amazon catalog.

What was used to make this magnetite? oleic acid? wondering what type of solvent to use for my ferrofluid and i need to know to choose a solvent.

Im think an iron compound but thats all i know about it. It doesnt say.

Yep, it's magnetite powder. I bought it to make a large quantity of ferrofluid (combine with engine oil). That works very well and it's a cheap way to get a lot!

Great for a magnetic wall

Follow the instructions in the other reviews and you'll do great! We mixed 1kg with 1 litre of pva and prepared a 2m square wall with 3 layers. 6 layers in total held even the heaviest of fridge magnets. Covered with 3 layers of chalkboard paint and looks great

Excellent for making magnetic slime

We used this to make magnetic slime and it worked fantastically!! Use gloves though!!
