I have pretty fine silky hair, and usually have trouble with clips or hair bands staying in my hair. These velcro rollers have really great grip and have no trouble staying where I put them. I’m still trying to finesse how to use them, have no idea how people sleep with them on. Pretty hard, gave me a headache the one time I tried. But for using during the day and blow drying, these are fantastic

The rollers are easy to use. With DRY hair, I rolled all the hair on my head using the large rollers on the top of my head and small for the rest of my head. Then I turned my blow dryer on hot and blew all the rollers with hot air to help set the curl. I allowed 20-30 minutes for the rollers to cool while I did my make up. After the hair had cooled, I removed the rollers and the curl was great. I lightly combed it out and then sprayed with the Drybar Rum Hair Spray which I also really liked because it has good but soft hold that lightly smells like the beach. Note that there are not enough big clamps for each roller. Save the big clamps for longer heavier sections of hair and get some long metal hair clips for the rest. You could also roll your hair wet if you have the patience to wait for it to dry. I had a wedding to go to and I toyed with the idea of getting my hair done at a salon but then decided to try doing my own hair and it came out great.
