Xpelair C4S 4-inch Simply Silent Contour Extractor Fan Standard

This is a brilliant fan that is whisper quiet as described. However I would suggest that the higher speed is selected on install as the lower speed would only be any use for a continuous on situation as it does not move enough air otherwise. This fan was a direct replacement for one that had been installed for many years in conjunction with a bathroom light switch & the C4S made it sound like an old tractor by comparison. Installation was very simple with just a Neutral & a Positive connection. It was not even necessary to drill new fixing holes in the wall due to a very neat arrangement of two small spikes that grip the internal vent hole by tightening two small screws after inserting the body of the fan into the vent hole. I can highly recommend the C4S as it sets the standard by which all those nasty cheaper fans should be judged.Delivery was by return so what more can you ask!

This extractor fan is really quiet. My son starts work earlier than the rest of the household and the old shower extractor fan used to wake us up in the room above the bathroom. Not any more! The difference is truly amazing and now the water falling from the shower makes more noise than the fan. The extraction rate is also excellent. We have it set on the higher speed setting and, after 4 people have taken showers, the room is still almost clear of steam so we don't need to keep it running for too long after we're all done. Given that the room is pretty much the coldest room in the house, that is quite impressive. It was a fairly simple job to fit this extractor in place of the old one. The only thing that was a bit of a pain is that, because the body of this Xpelair C4S is round, you don't have any obvious markings to ensure that the outer cover will be exactly parallel with the wall or ceiling. There are slotted screw holes in the base, but you still have to complete the installation before you can tell whether it's at the right angle.

Pretty quiet on the lower speed and ridiculously noisy at the higher setting. Easy to fit but would advise being very careful removing front cover as lugs look delicate. My second beef is that it came fitted with back draught shutters! I didn't see that in the description or the schematic. The back draught shutters are very flimsy plastic flaps which I removed as I'd bought separate shutters on the same order, which incidentally do not work as I'd like so may well be refitting these to see which preforms best. Why manufacturers do not give more thought to back draught shutters I dn't know.

Easy to fit and wire , nice and quiet and with a choice of fronts, round or square.

Good product and as it advertises very quiet. But more noisy on the higher speed but hardly noticeable on the low speed but still effective. I like the fact that the air is directed to each side of the front cover. I’m using this near a 3D printer so it’s effective at drawing the “fumes and micro filament particles away but not directly cooling the printer as the air flow is indirect.

I bought this to replace an old and cheap fan. The noise level went down remarkably, and so did the suction unfortunately. If I want to scale my old extractor on a scale of 0 to 10 I would give it 5 suction-wise. This one 3 or 4. I Can’t use the mirror after having a shower anymore. If you’re looking for a silent extractor then this is it, but you have to forget about suction. I must have had about 7 or 8 extractors in the past. I can say that this one is the quietest one and the least efficient one. If you don’t want to do the job twice as I’m going to, think twice before buying this one.

This fan does an ok job at extracting steam from your bathroom. It’s not as quiet as the adverts claim. Plus as the cover is a clip on rather than a screw on it is difficult to take off once you have it clipped together. It requires force to remove the cover if you want to adjust it or swap it for the round cover. It’s poor design, made cheaply to save costs.

Funcionan muy bien y la instalación ha sido muy fácil. Tan solo cambiar un puente de conexión para pasar de una velocidad a otra. La verdad es que no hacen nada de ruido.

Prodotto molto economico fa il suo dovere.

Sono ormai mesi che l'ho installata in bagno. L'istallazione è stata molto semplice a veloce. consiglio a tutti coloro che hanno bisogno di un aspiratore piccolo potente e silenzioso.
