Nupla 33803 Yellow Nuplaglas Handle Steel Claw and Pry Halligan Tool, 24" Length

Not flimsy by any means. Even though it's not high carbon steel like a "real" Halligan, I Had no problem doing door pops, forced entry, Takin' door off frames, got more Weight to it, but I like that extra control, All around good tool, got an extra Billy Goat too .fits good on hinge side.

I had reservations about a 3 piece halligan, and concerns about the synthetic middle piece, but it stood up to all the prying and swings I could throw at it. I keep it with my search and rescue tools, and while I haven't tested it with a 6" roof hook to really torque it, I'd say it can pry doors, get hit by a flat head axe, drill bolts, and baseball swing doors without issue. Like all Nupla products, if you're willing to put in the "finishing" work, you get a stout tool for a reasonable price.

For openers, forget about the claim of "lighter weight". This thing is a beast. But that's not necessarily such a bad thing. It puts the brute in force. I can't comment on the strength of the glass core of the bar. Time will tell.Overall construction I'd give it a C or C-. The business ends are cast, not forged, and the mold marks are quite visible. The adze has no curve which some will admire and some won't. The fork is admirably sturdy and decently ground and finished. The spike seems adequate, but bear in mind that it's cast, not drop forged.High marks for the handle finish. Comfortable and secure grip, and bright yellow. Hard to miss - except that it's easy to miss if you're swinging the axe, and that's also a good thing. Likewise thumbs up for the depth marks on the claw.The best feature is the price, and if this is a tool for volunteer rescue organizations on a tight budget who aren't abusing it on a daily basis, it makes a good choice.

I'm a 1st Responder, and this tool is absolutely awesome! Super-strong & durable.I personally use this tool in my bugout gear, and I have a smaller size (mini-me) version that I carry in my POV.I highly recommend any tool offered by Nupla!! 👍👍😎

I liked the overall design and the weight; good for some tasks at vehicle crashes, esp. when Jaws Of Life aren't yet on site, or windshields need quick removal/opening up. For some building doorway or window frame prying, a hefty (5-9lb) dead blow hammer helps drive in the wedge.

This thing is awesome in the back of my cruiser with a 10# sledge... being a glassed handle it doesn’t make as much noise as a traditional halligan but is still incredibly strong. Highly recommended.

As a career firefighter this is one of our number one go to tools, I've been in situations where I was off duty and needed something to gain entry to help somebody, I thought I would give this a try, after receiving it, I noticed that it was actually heavier then the ones we use on duty and the handle was a lot thicker I did not like the grip I had returned it without using it so I cannot give you a review on use, I can only review my opinion, it states it's 20% lighter it actually felt 20% heavier to me then the ones we use on our trucks, and handle was a lot thicker then ours , and I did not like the grip, I had bought the 30 in, and debated on maybe if I go with the 36,it would of been better since that's the size we use, but that meant it would of been even heavier, I returned it without using and decided to purchase a solid steel one just like the ones we use on duty I'm very happy with it,, this one was just not for me
