9W Dual WHITE LED light bulb (B22 bayonet base) with built-in 2.4GHz remote control capabilities which means the colour temperature can be changed from a warm white through to a daylight white (2700K - 6500K) depending on the type of light required when used with a Dual White 2.GHz remote controller (not included). A cool, daylight white for example might be better suited for the morning when waking up, working, cleaning or reading and a warmer white for sitting back and relaxing or entertaining. The bulb can also be dimmed remotely for creating a more cosy environment as required. The easy addition of additional bulbs makes it possible to achieve an excellent lighting balance in any room or area with a combination of light sources and the bulb is suitable for use in ceiling lights, wall lights, table lights, side lights, uplighters, spot lights etc This is a top quality 2.4GHz WiFi enabled remote control light bulb that is not trying to compete with low cost, low quality infra red controlled bulbs which might look similar but lack the depth of functionality and control. Please note that the remote controller is not included in this offer and the bulb will work with 2.GHZ Dual WHITE remote controllers only and is not suitable for use with RGBW controllers. The hand held remote control unit is available separately, see ASIN :B00UAGZ1IK. This light bulb is also available in a set including the remote control unit, please search for ASIN: B00IYOL5HG Because these bulbs are 2.4GHz WiFi enabled they can also be controlled with an Android or IOS smartphone or tablet (iPad, iPhone etc) when used in conjunction with the optional WiFi controller box ( Asin :B01N7HGHZ0) Also available with a screw base ASIN :B00OV0QZ9K ** NOT suitable for use with conventional wall dimmer switches - only dimmable by remote control

Perfect for changing warmth in the evenings and mornings.
I wanted a bulb for the bedroom that could give warm light in the evening, and a cool bright light in the mornings. This fits the bill for my requirements perfectly. The Good:These bulbs have an open API, which means that unlike the Phillips Hue range, anybody can create an app to control them. This means there are a plethora of apps out there to give you full control over your bulbs, each with different features and designs. I currently use an app that turns my light on, to a cool, bright light at 6am slowly over the course of 10 minutes. This wakes me up gently and the coolness of the colour allegedly reduces hormones that can make you feel groggy in the morning. The bulbs are bright, you won't notice any reduction going from regular incandescent bulbs to these LED ones. They're long-lasting. I've got around 5 of these now, and no issues so far in the first 6 months. There's a lot of control available (either with an app or the remote purchased separately) for the brightness and warmness of the light produced. The Bad:If the bulb is less than 100% brightness, or less than 'Max Warm/Cold' then they make a very quiet, but audible whine. Some people may not notice, however it is a slight annoyance to me. Not enough to drop it below 4.5/5 in my books though. The Noteworthy:These types of 'smart bulbs' don't provide uniform light distribution. This means that when used as a celing light, they tend to shine most of the light downwards and outwards, leaving the ceiling relatively dark. It's because, if you look at the image, the lower half of the bulb is covered in metal (which houses the heat-sink, wifi etc). This isn't a problem when used as a lamp.I haven't listed this as a con, as it's a fundamental part of the design of all these smart bulbs (including Phillips expensive ones) that allows them to have built-in Wifi or Bluetooth. It's also important to note that you will need to purchase the remote control, and/or the bridge for your router, to allow you to control the bulbs. Without them they will function with your regular light switch, but with a fixed brightness and warmth. In conclusion, I strongly recommend these bulbs if you're looking for a solution for dimming (without fitting a dimmer switch) and if you 'd like to control the warmth of the lighting in your home for different times of the day. Phillips may have a more elegant solution, with an extensive range and software suite, however these can achieve the exact same results, albeit with a bit of tech know-how and fiddling for a fraction of the price.

The lights are back on
Great to be able to vary the light tone and strength easily, after the horror of standard "eco" bulbs. They can be bright white or softer yellow according to wish. One lamp at maximum can lighten the room far better than four using the old style. After four weeks use , pleased with investing in them I first bought starter kit then additional bulbs.

Best thing since sliced bread
Great little gadget. Easier than having to fit dimmer switches etc.

Very large and cool light
Very large bulb makes it unsuitable to many fittings and not able to adjust warmth level as much as expected, not as much as soft standard bulb.
