Excellent Knife and Outstanding Customer Service
I’m very happy with this knife overall. It feels sharp, well balanced, and comfortable to use in the kitchen. I use it regularly for vegetables, meat, and general cooking prep, and it performs really well for the price. It also stays super sharp for a long time — highly recommend. I did unfortunately experience an issue with my original knife after around 12 months of use, where the blade snapped during use. However, I have to say the customer support from SHAN ZU was excellent throughout the entire process. Amy from the after-sales team was incredibly helpful, professional, and quick to respond, and they immediately arranged a free replacement for me. The replacement arrived quickly, and I’m very satisfied with both the knife and the level of customer service I received. It’s rare to find support this good these days, and it definitely left a very positive impression on me.

A symphony in every slice
Cooking often means work, but this SHAN ZU knife makes it feel like play. It glides with precision, cuts with swagger, and transforms the dullest prep into something worth watching. The weight is just right, and the blade is impossibly sharp. It’s a performance every time it meets a cutting board. The knife doesn’t cut. It whispers through ingredients. Carrots dissolve into orange confetti, herbs collapse into fragrant dust, and meat obeys like a samurai bowing to its master. Every slice is choreography. Every chop is a drumbeat. Suddenly, you’re no longer cooking, you’re composing symphonies in garlic and thyme. It feels less like a tool and more like a promise in your hand. A promise that your dinner will be beautiful. Once you get your hands on a SHAN ZU blade, I guarantee you’ll find yourself looking for excuses to chop just to feel it in action. It’s the kind of knife that guests ask where you got it, and the kind that makes you secretly smile when you pull it from the block. Yep, this is a darn good knife.

Knife is too good for the price!
Ok I am an amateur chef when it comes to working in the kitchen, I have some very expensive knives ranging from £100 to £200 per knife. While this one may not top those they certainly come very close in terms of quality, balance and overall use. The area for finger grip placement and control is correct for proper cutting (see photos) and the rest of the handle fits perfectly in the remainder of the hand. The blade came sharp and instantly cut through a fresh tomato with no issue. My only complaint so far is that the blade seems to scratch and I have no idea how long it will hold up to daily use and cleanings.

Nice enough but heavy.
This knife comes in a box for protection of the knife and user. It is sharp enough and feels like good quality but I find it very heavy. I just hope I can learn how to keep it sharp.

1 year later...and worth every penny
I don't normally leave reviews but I've been using this knife for more than a year so I think it's worth a review. I have arthritis in my hands so food prep is tedious. My issues are exacerbated by cheap knives that become blunt rapidly blunt causing pain. 12 months in and this still hasn't blunted so 5 stars for durability and sturdiness. It stays sharp enough to slice carrots with minimal pressure which makes life 100 percent easier you don't realise until you use a good knife how much you are missing out on. For the price the quality is better than expensive brands I've tried. I actually bought one for my daughter who is pregnant and was struggling in the kitchen, overall were very happy with it.

You get what you pay for
It’s OK, nothing special just a good kitchen knife for a starter kitchen. Very sharp on first use. Build quality could be better as the metal tang and rivets are slightly proud of the handle material.

Sehr zufrieden!
Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Messer. Gutes Allround-Chef-Messer ohne Steg, was das Schärfen erleichtert.

It's a very nice knife
I have nothing bad to say about this, feels great in the hand, very sharp and does exactly what you want a knife to do.

Nice knife
I’m not a professional chef so this knife is more than enough. Sharp and nice quality.
