Will this die cast metal hozelock gun freeze up and ultimately crack in freezing weather?

Hi is this gun any good for watering delicate flowers in containers? I find most are too powerful and seem to blast them and the soil!

This is not a spray gun problem as all spray guns will blast delicate flowers if used too close to them - this is a water pressure problem. I live in an are of very high water pressure and have to turn the tap nearly off to water celicate flowers to avoid damaging them or stand well back!
