Accel World Pt 2 [Blu-ray]

As a new school year begins, Haruyuki and Taku must deal with Dusk Taker, a mysterious and sinister Burst Linker who is making their life hell, while Kuroyukihime is in Okinawa for a school trip. Meanwhile Chiyu makes the choice to join her friends in their game but events transpire that could drive them further apart.This second volume of the 'Accel World' anime continues the very entertaining anime with the final twelve episodes of the season. These episodes cover the entirety of the Dusk Taker arc, as well as including two episodes to show what Kuroyukihime was doing in Okinawa while the main plot was ongoing elsewhere. I am not as much of a fan of the Dusk Taker arc as I was the previous arcs and this is mainly because the main villain of the ark, Dusk Taker himself, isn't the sort of character who I like (I have seen him compared to Nobuyuki Sugou, the villain of 'Sword Art Online's' Fairy Dance arc). Having said this however, this arc does include some very nice moments with some very nice action (the final battle in particular is very nice), as some information on one of the secrets of the Accelerated World. As well as this, the arc gives Haruyuki the chance to show just how much he has grown as a character since the beginning of the series.The episodes showing Kuroyukihime's time in Okinawa are probably one of my favourite parts of this half of the series as it takes some time to develop her character and has some nice battles. It also neatly ties into the main plot of the series eventually.Other than Dusk Taker, this arc introduces a number of new characters who are all quite interesting such as Sky Raker (the Burst Linker closest to achieving flight before Silver Crow), Blood Leopard (one of the Red King's closest followers) and the Okinawan Burst Linkers (who are pretty fun).The animation for this half of the series remains great with some very spectacular moments throughout the series. The English dub for the series also remains good with Melissa Fahn (credited as Johanna Luis) being particularly good as the voice of Sky Raker. One thing I forgot to mention in my last review is that the English dub does include some Japanese honorifics, which is good. For this part of the series, the English dub also retains Lagoon Dolphin's use of the Ryukyuan language.As with the previous volume there are little in the way of special features, just clean opening and closing credits and some more trailers. This does unfortunately mean that the OVAs and Specials aren't included here and I don't know if they will be released in English.In the end, despite my dislike of Dusk Taker, this is an entertaining end to the 'Accel World' series with the positives far outweighing the negatives. Overall this second volume of 'Accel World' (and the series as a whole) deserves a full five stars.

I've contacted MVM and wanted to inform you all of 2 things:as with every other release in the world, this 2 series of dvd/blurays will not include the 2 OVAs that followed the series, due to them being released only in japan attached to the 2 videogames of the series.the 2nd thing is that unfortunatly the miniseries Achel World wasn't licensed in europe and australia to be released on DVD/Bluray so it'll not be present.The clean openings and endings are included though.The customer service of MVM was very quick to answer my emails and very helpfull.Add: I've added menus pics for volume 2, with all the menus.Accel World is a very funny, entertaining and a great series in which you'll feel really linked to the main characters, expecially to Haru, the protagonist, and never fails to deliver a great episode, granted the writer of the series is the same of Sword Art Online so what did you expect?In hope a second series will be announced I'd like to thank MVM again for bringing to us European users this great boxsets.Giovanni

Action quite good, and animation and background illustration (artwork in general) is accomplished. sadly the main character is still a wimp, both in and out of the Accel world, so stretches credibility as a hero figure. The rest of the characters and the action carry it though, so if you watched part 1, carry on and watch part 2.

loved it. watched the whole anime already 2 days in 4 weeks.video quality is awesome. if you like SOA you will probably love this ! nice fights, comedy , echi..5 stars.
