First, this is a juice concentrate and you should add water. Do not try to drink this juice concentrate without adding water.The juice has a strong citric (but not citric aroma) taste. The taste isn't bitter and somewhat sweet.The evidence of benefits of pomegranate seems to be getting more numerous and stronger every year. The ladies swear by its complexion-enriching (produces more collagen) benefits. There is also indirect evidence that ingredients in pomegranate promotes better aging, reduces the likelihood of obesity, and is generally protective of organs such as the heart.You will need to use more than a spoonful if you want to drink this as a "juice".Pros:1)Juice concentrate so it is perfect for purchasing and shipping online.2)Doesn't require refrigeration. It requires refrigeration after opening (juice can stay fresh for prolonged period without it).3)Tastes very decent (but not terrific).Cons:1)Expensive but pomegranate is an expensive fruit.

I purchased this on the recommendation of my dermatologist. I am prone to developing precancerous spots on my head (bald, fair complexion, and don't like to wear a hat) which he would freeze off during my regular visits. He recommended that I take 2000mg of Pomegranate per day because it might reverse any spots and possibly prevent new ones from developing. Since these are 425mg per capsule I take five of these per day. While I realize this is much higher than the recommended dosage I am trying to follow his advice as closely as I can. It has been about two months and it does appear to have some effect. I notice that the spots seem to be developing less and the ones that were there seems to be diminished.An unexpected surprise is the fact that it seems to have helped me control my blood pressure too. When I first began taking these I knew nothing about the health benefits of taking Pomegranate. It seems that there is research that suggests that they are very good for your cardiovascular system, joint health, prostate health, blood sugar and more.As I said earlier, I take these at an increased dosage. My wife has started taking them two per day. At the recommended dosage of two per day it is a relatively inexpensive way to support not only your overall health but your body’s vital functions too. I would much rather put pomegranate in my body than some prescribed medicine that is widely advertised on television with over half of the commercial devoted to the many horrible potential side effects.While your mileage may vary I would say give it a try.

I gave it to my husband and he likes it. Great source of antioxidants and tastes good.

We love Jarrow Pomegranate Juice Concentrate for it's high ORAC value and health benefits and we really love it for the taste and syrup-like consistency. (but only 36 calories per tbsp) We add it to everything from sparkling water to our morning smoothies- it isnt sugary sweet in any way, but it does have a nice natural sweetness combined with that pomegranate snap.We really wanted to comment on the care in which this product arrived from Vitacost- they did a beautiful job wrapping it so that the bottle would arrive safely and very quickly. We originally discovered this product at our local whole food store but availability was getting spotty as well as the price getting higher-- so now we will continue to order from Vitacost.

I take this everyday for about a year now.I am in the medical field and am very conscious about using holistic productswhen I can. I was pre-hypertensive and my Dr. put me on Blood pressure medication.though I was not on very much. The prescribed medication made my life a living hades !I quit the medication and started taking PomeGuard and Niacin slow release andmy Blood pressure is always in this ball park : 117/78 and pulse 78I'm 56 years young. I'd highly recommend this product.disclaimer.. do not take this as medical advice.. always use the advice of your own physician.My blood pressure may have gone down anyway. Remember I was pre-hypertensive. about 135/90 to 140 / 90 so I was never in realdanger to try an alternative. My spouse on the other hand must take prescribed blood pressure medication x 2.

This concentrate tastes great, essentially like regular 100% pomegranate juice. It's very cost effective for consumption of larger quantiles for health strategies, such as >16 oz per day. It's tart and sweet taste is addicting and does a great job of covering up the nasty taste of certain drugs, such as prednisone. I marked a 16 oz POM juice container with a sharpie for a fill line for 4 oz of concentrate. That way I just add concentrate to the fill line and cold water from the frig to the top, cap, and shake. Done. Easy peezy.Good product.

In 2006 I saw on TV that UCLA had just finished a study proving that pomegranate could one day be a mainstream treatment for prostate cancer. This product is a very strong dose of pomegranate fruit extract. My urologist has every one of his prostate cancer patients taking one capsule of PomGuard every day. He says it is very effective in preventing a return of prostate cancer. At $13.18 for a 2 months supply it is the cheapest and most effective prostate cancer treatment he can offer his patients who have been treated for prostate cancer and are now in remission. He says PomGuard can be key in keeping your PSA below 1.0, and slow the already very slow growing prostate cancer to a crawl. For people in their 60's with prostate cancer in remission, but with a still small detectable PSA this is very good news as PomGuard allows them to outlive the disease.

This is the best pomegranate concentrate I have found, and I am about to order more. It is concentrated four times and a little goes a long way.

An excellent product though I will go to the PomeGreat capsules next time. The capsules are easier to take with you when you are away from home.
