Galco Vertical Shoulder Holster System for Sig-Sauer P226, P220

I tried out both this holster and the Galco Jackass with my P226 Legion. Compared to the Jackass this holster provides less concealment because the butt of the gun juts out past my torso making a more noticeable bulge. The jackass sits at an angle with the barrel of the gun running up toward the sky under my armpit and the butt of the gun angling downwards.I also have a couple more issues with this gun compared to the Jackass.-It is VERY easy to catch the hammer on this holster and cock it back while you are holstering the weapon-The leather straps on this holster feel very thin and weak compared to the straps that came with the Jackass-This holster swings back and forth way more than the jackassThe one thing that i did like about this holster is that it was more comfortable than the jackass, but that is about all i liked about it

Nice leather & quality made in USA!!I've been a CPL holder for a little over a year now and have usually carried w/ an IWB holster which makes sitting, getting in and out of a car pretty uncomfortable. I'd always wanted a good shoulder holster and found this Galco VHS248 at a great price and of course Free Shipping. Carrying with this holster is so comfortable and easy, it's unbelievable. The mags and the pistol balance their weight nicely. The front straps of the Galco VHS are extra wide to spread the pressure of the weight. I'd recommend this to anyone wearing a light coat, driving a car or motorcycle, or wanting to carry while seated. The fit is easy to adjust, can be set up for right or left-handed draw, and the quality of the leather is outstanding. Love it!!I bought this for a Sig pistol but recently purchased a CZ-75 D compact for which the holster fits great as well.

I wanted to CC on my motorcycle but didn't want to carry in my waistband. This is expensive but the quality is superb, very soft and does't irritate with a t-shirt on. Everything else did not have good reviews for comfort and quality. Didn't want to spend $150 on this but it is worth it. Very nice.FYI: It takes time to break it in...

Great holster, but like everyone says it will take some getting used to and making adjustments for a few wks until you get it adjusted to your body just right. As for quality there is no question there that's it's real good! Look forward to carrying my P227 in this holster for the rest of my time here!

I have always wanted a shoulder holster, and when I finally decided to purchase one, I turned to Galco due to the rave reviews I had heard.I can't speak for other people and the holsters designed for other pistols, but I can tell you that Galco dropped the ball on this Vertical (VHS) holster for the Sig P220:Problem #1 I discovered Immediately that this rig does not have any means to attach the optional tie-downs on the holster side. Leaning forward or backward is not a problem, but if you lean to your side, the holstered weapon swings out like a pendulum. Additionally, and even worse, the lack of a tie-down coupled with the angle of draw completely prevents a single-handed draw from this holster. You have to hold the holster steady with your weak arm to get the pistol out. I liked the holster enough at this point to consider adding a tie-down myself until problem #2 appeared...Problem #2 While testing the fit of my single-stack P220 magazines in the magazine holster, I discovered that they rattle around loose even when snapped closed. I contacted Galco via email about this problem and they informed me that the supplied mag carrier (Part SCL24) is a "compromise" in order to fit multiple handgun magazines, including double-stack mags. Unfortunately, I will not pay $180 for a compromise in ANY situation, especially one that might lead to a dropped magazine if one of the snaps comes undone. What really gets me is that Galco also had the nerve to inform me that part #SCL26 would fit my magazines better; this would cost me an additional $80. Why on earth would I spend an additional $80 for a rig that better fits the P220 when the rig I ordered states specifically that it fits the P220?Thanks for nothing, Galco. I do feel bad that I need to hassle your reseller with a returned item, but this rig is completely unacceptable. I will be searching for a higher quality product.

This was a very good holster. Once you get it set it works very well. This is a comfortable way to carry especially for a large man. Additionally you get to carry 2 extra clips which is always a concern with other carry methods.

Excellent quality leather and construction Only issue I had was the tight fit of the new E2 style Sig in the area of the beavertail grip. Not a fault in the holster as Sig changed the dimensions of the grip on the E2 style gun. I think it will still work after a little break in.
