We've been using this for a few months now, and the quantity of feed we're getting through in a week has quartered from what it was. I'm positive the rodents are no longer able to access it, even though the feeder is left out overnight. It costs a good bit less than the named treadle feeder we were advised to get, and my hens haven't had any trouble getting used to it. Highly recommend.

Overall I am pleased with this feeder and I have since bought second one after the success of the first and to provide a second food source for my chickens. It is strong, good quality and looks nice. The contraption works well and chicks took to it quickly. The downside is that the food clogs up in the funnel, it then stops the food filtering down and on one of two occasions the chickens have gone without food. If anyone has any ideas of how to avoid this please let me know.

excellent product does exactly what it says. No rats have been able to access, they used to climb up the duck coop walls and drop down onto the hanging feeder but they cant do with this as they fall off before the can get to the food. I was worried that it would not be suitable for ducks because the feeding area is quite small but the ducks are find with it they just take it in turns. They dont spill much at all. My only wish is that it was larger. I have three Indian Runner Ducks and this feeder feeds them for about 3 days , so I am going to have to buy another one for when we go on holiday. I hope they make a bigger version soon.

I had an issue with vermin, mice and rats had been having a field day with the feeder I was using as left out all night and they were eating a lot of the chick's food, it was going down very fast, so had to do something as don't like using poison around pets and Jack Russell's like a slower rat or mouse to kill, got this, the Pekin Bantams were a bit confused with the new feeder, it took a few days for them to fully figure out where the pellets were, so did put some down in a dish below it once a day and not enough to be left overnight, they caught on fairly quickly, it is also a good idea to adjust the height it is placed as I originally put it too low, once it is at the right height they see the food and go at it, not cleaned it yet as it's not dirty and the pen is covered so no rain gets to it, very easy to fill, I have five Pekin's and so far filling once a week, not seen any more evidence of vermin, so has to be much better for them, so overall very impressed, looked at other options but didn't want anything too big that took up floor space, definitely the best option for me.

Rubbish. It gets clogged up and the spring doesn’t lift back up so it isn’t rodent proof

The feeding area is very small and couple of my hens ignore it and wont eat from it. The others have a little peck at it but I am having to feed them separately which completely undermines the purpose of it. It is rainproof and rats cant get in which is good, but overall, It doesn't really work as it should and its very expensive (but it is well made)

Fat rats were running through the hen enclosure every evening- then we replaced the treadle feeders with this. No more rats. Brilliant. They usually work out all puzzles, but this one seems to have stumped them. The hens, even the really not so bright ones, now all feed happily from this. We have one big girl and 5 pekins, and one feeder is adequate.

We have used this for a month now and it has got rid of the vermon problem (as far as we know!) so 10 stars for that!! The unit itself is sturdy enough. However, we had to change to pellets so it could work better, the mash we had fell out too much. It clogs up, so every couple of days you have to clean the gaps by sticking your fingers in and clearing and then every week or so, you have to empty and clean out the big clogs of wet mushy food. It has been raining a lot, so in the summer (when there is less rain, hopefully!) this shouldn’t be an issue. The chain it comes with is pretty useless if you want to hang in the coop as it is too short. We used a length of rope and it worked fine so have that ready for installation if you are hanging from a height. It hasn’t a super big container, so for 6 young hens we are having to top up pretty much every day. The feed wouldn’t last two days. Overall, it has solved the pest problem so we’re pleased with that, just wish it was a bit bigger and wouldn’t clog! And that we didn’t need to change our feed.

Nach einiger Zeit im Gebrauch, kann ich wirklich nur positives Berichten. Die Hühner haben den Futterspender gut angenommen, sind mit dem Futtern etwas länger beschäftigt und entkommen so der Langeweile. Ratten werden sicher abgehalten!!! Durch den Einsatz des Futterautomaten kommen unsere Damen nun wesentlich länger mit dem Futter aus, da es keine unerwünschten Mitesser mehr gibt. Der Futterautomat hängt bei uns im Freigehege und ist wirklich auch bei starken Regen wetterbeständig. Das Futter bleibt durch den Deckel trocken!

Works great! No more rats or even little wild birds only chickens can get the food It's Nov 2021 and I think the little springs are worn out wish I could get replacement parts now if a rat comes the chickens are locked out so I need to buy a new one? June 2023. no matter how much I clean it the door sticks in the closed positionthe little springs just don't seem to want to pull it back up anymore so I manually put them up in the morning check on them throughout the day and then make sure they're closed at night I've also added a secondary feeder so the chickens can have access to food during the day the product seemed so great but it's got that little flaw

Pour mes trois poules, il y avait deux problèmes : les rats et les pigeons. Il fallait les nourrir en petite quantités toutes les heures. Là, on peut mettre 3à4 kg de graines. Les rats et les pigeons ne sont pas contents ! Très bon produit, belle fabrication, solide.

al principio todo genial : los ratones no consiguian hacerse con la comida pero al cabo de un tiempo , las 2 trampillas empezaron a bloquearse por los proprios trozo de granos que se ponen en las guias verticales , y molestan el recorrido de dichas trampillas, hasta que el muelle no consigue luchar => se quedan en posicion baja , es decir sin acceso a la comida , ni para los ratones, ni para las gallinas ! estuve a punto de perderlas durante las vacaciones de verano .. le puse lubricante tipo teflon , pero tampoco : ahora tengo que desbloquearlas cada semana. Total , una buena idea , pero no hicieron pruebas largas ..

Articolo arrivato nei tempi stabiliti. Imballo non perfetto ma l’articolo non era danneggiato. La mangiatoia è fantastica! Ho smesso di alimentare ratti e piccioni e di sprecare il mangime! Le galline, anche quelle giovani, si sono abituate immediatamente. Sono soddisfatta e lo consiglio vivamente a chi ha problemi di piccioni e ratti che mangiano a sbafo!
