FlipLok High Security Door Lock - 10X Stronger Than a Deadbolt, Keypad Lock, Silver, Keyless

I bought this lock after returning a similar but much cheaper add-on lock (if you’re reading this review, you’ve seen it- they are all over Amazon) that once I received it, I realized used a spring mechanism. That’s a no-go for me since it’s a potential failure point. This lock, however, has no springs and no real potential failure points. It is VERY robust and made of a very thick aluminum. It also includes an extensive set of installation hardware, and good, detailed instructions. You can tell a lot of thought went into this design. So how does it perform? I can tell you the door I installed it on is now probably the most secure in the house. Very strong, and very simple to use. Great design. I’ll probably buy more for other doors.

I have used numerous versions, types, and brand flip locks throughout the years. This one is leaps and bounds ahead. I bought this one to solve an odd shape, thick exterior door (it had a deeper mount plate than any I'd found/bought). To my surprise of all the adjustment pieces you get with this to fit almost any configuration. This even includes loctite which is crazy in today's market. Pro: Super easy installation. They have it built where you don't really need to do anything other than placement on the door (it doesn't really say but you'd put it about 3/4 up the door from the floor but at least 4-6" from a deadbolt install, you'd position it lower based on children sizes if applicable). Quality is top notch. Durability (force it withstands) is almost 3x higher than like items (and its clear once you install it and pull/push test for give). Ease of operation is also great. Especially if someone has limited use of their hands (hand strength or mobility). Maintenance should be worry free unlike the ones that are spring loaded. Color choice of nickel is really spot on in comparison to other hardware of same color (so it matches). Con: It's a bit pricey at $60 but the piece of mind is worth the premium. Nothing else at the time of installation. Of note, but not really a con, but because it slides up/down on the door, you may wat to consider felt tape so it doesn't mark/scratch your door. In conclusion, I'm overly shocked with the quality on this. So much so, I'm buying 3 more for exterior doors at my house and 1-2 for interior doors (it comes with a different mount plate to fit interior door thicknesses). If you, or someone you know, uses these types of barricades for added security or is looking to purchase them...look no further, and/or direct them here (i just finished installing it about an hour ago and I've already told 11 people). I will get others for my mother/father-in-law's houses. 100% recommend this to everyone. As an added bonus, I have an exterior door that closes too tight so it puts a ton of pressure on the deadbolt causing it to need replacement less than every 7-10y. With this, I mounted it just as tight so when you push the door in for the fliplok to engage, it is tight enough that the deadlock has smooth operation again.

This lock was super easy to install and is very sturdy. Gives you a very secure feeling!

It's a great product! It's EZ to install and provides solid resistance to any attempted forced entry. I installed it about a quarter of the way up the door frame from the floor to better resist a kick-in, and to provide some distance from it and the door's dead bolt to better distribute any impact load on the door frame. It's very easy to engage and disengage - I get lazy and often use my socked foot for that, which saves my old rickety back some wear & tear!

Wow, this is one of the nicest door locking devices I have ever seen. It functions effortlessly, both to lock and unlock. The install goes smoothly on MOST doors, some doors don't have a wide enough gap (because of age or poor door install) but it can be "cut to fit" into the jamb if needed. My only problem with this locking device is the PRICE. When you get your lock delivered and open the shipping box you will notice a beautiful product box. As you open that box, you almost feel that you are opening a box designed for a Rolex watch or other extremely expensive piece of jewelry. Don't get me wrong, it is packaged beautifully but if they did away with the fancy packaging, they could probably knock off $5.00 or more off the overall price. The lock is well made, works for both right and left "inswing" doors" just by flipping the locking head over (takes 10-15 seconds) and is VERY strong. Guys, just remember to not piss off your spouse or you will literally be "sleeping in the dog house" until they let you back in.

I am very impressed with this lock! The quality is amazing and the packaging is great quality too. That speaks volumes about the product and company. The lock was easy to install, and fits my door frame like a glove. I lined it up perfectly on my door frame. My door doesn’t move at all. I love the fact that this lock will give me the needed time to engage an intruder. I’ve already advised my brother to get some for his house!

Easy to install and makes your door almost impossible to kick in. My suggestion is if you really want to fortify your door get some of the hinge pins so that the hinge side is covered as well. But this item well worth it. The peace of mind is great

Good Strong Lock

I was so excited to get this. I had a handyman install it and after two weeks it fell apart.
