Quality and practicality
My existing Leki poles are now about 20 years old - still going strong, which shows the quality. However, improvements over the years mean that the new poles have better materials for the grip and wrist loops, and the quick release catches are a definite improvement (once properly adjusted) over the old type. Might be pricy but worth the money (a cheap pole I had was bent when an enthusiastic labrador crashed into it!)
