Christmas miracle
I was so discouraged thinking of how I would toddler proof my Christmas tree and village this year. Thankfully I found this gate! It is the perfect height and incredibly versatile due to the ability to add or remove sections and the choice of angle provided by very close teeth on the adjuster. I was able to install it myself fairly easily with the use of a drill and hammer. The only thing I struggled with was the little button you push to remove sections. I had to use a screwdriver to push them in and sometimes they’d get stuck in the metal bar and I’d have to pull them out which was a challenge. My toddler has not been able to access the other side and it is really sturdy and stable when she pulls on it! I also love that it has a door!

DO NOT ORDER
I received the first gate broken reached out and received a replacement ALSO BROKEN!! The manufacture said i needed to pay for postage to return this thing is HEAVY absolutely not then they said I can keep it and no need to return it and then i was charged. I reached out to them on numerous occasions no response. Save yourself the headache.

Most dogs can get through cat door!! Easy fix
Overall, if you understand these pressure gates, this is a very good one. However, It has one major flaw I think manufacturers could easily correct. MOST DOGS CAN GET THROUGH THE CAT DOOR.I set up the gate and tested it out. I put my cat through the cat door. My dog got all excited and slipped through that cat door like greased lightening!!!! She is a 40 lb. Australian Shepherd.Just shocked. Here's how I fixed mine. I had a friend saw off one of the rods in the cat door. I keep the cat door permanently closed now, but with one rod cut out, my 10 lb. And 12 lb. cats easily walk through. So the manufacturer can do 3 things at least to fix this.1. Make the cat door smaller. Honestly the only dog this pet door will keep out (if it's open) is a large one. German Shepherd size and up.2.Remove one rod in the pet door. Keeping the pet door closed with one rod removed will still allow the majority of cats to get through But you lose the option of blocking cats out when needed because the rod has been removed.3. Place one or two rods in the cat door that can be removed with screws on top and bottom. That way you can remove and save rods and screw them back in if you ever need to.Update.The cats solved the door problem themselves. If you look at some of the pictures, the last rail of the gate , next to the wall, is a little wider than the inner rails. That will vary, depending on how far out you have to extend the wall attachment screws. . If the gate is a fairly tight squeeze between the walls, than the cat can't get through. The cats quickly discovered that they can easily walk through the gate between the wall and the outer rail of the gate. Now the door is permanently closed and the cats just go to the wall and walk through the gate.

Sturdy and two part door mechanism is helpful!
We have had our gate up, secured to our wall surrounding our wood burning stove for about 2 months now. It has stayed up with no issues, and the door is easy to open, bit does have a 2 part mechanism that makes it a little trickier for kids to figure out. Our toddler can open the door now, but the time it took for him to figure it out has allowed enough safety training for him to know why we have put the gate up in the first place and so he doesn't open it unless we are refilling the wood. It's also a very large gate, we didn't need to use all the panels. Left one out.

The latch system sucks.
Edit: company sent us a new one and it works wonderfully! Our first one had a bad latch, but the company reached out and replaced it in a very timely manner and it’s now keeping our toddler out of the kitchen effectively! We’ve tried every way possible to get the latch to stay so we can keep our toddler out of the kitchen, we’ve had to resort to wrapping a belt around the door and side and duct taping that shut to keep my toddler from being able to get into the kitchen. Honestly a waste of money as it won’t keep dogs or kids out/in areas due to the latch not even reaching to lock in. It’s been a while since we bought it, I kept hoping to find some magic way to allow it work out, but it just really does not.
