These are the worst violin mutes I used (and I've used MANY). They are very stiff, making it very difficult to put on and take off the bridge quickly. You have to push against the bridge in order to flex the mute onto the strings given the small size of the string holes. With other mutes I've used, this can be done easily. But with this stiff mute, I'm worried about the pressure I have to put onto the bridge in order to do this. Terrible.

Does what it's supposed to, a little finicky to use when it's installed over the strings, but whatever

Don't last forever bu price is right. Mellows the sound for me then can be amp boosted.

I am a professional violinist and this is the most horrible sourdine I have even seen in my life ! They are absolutely useless!!! It’s very hard to put them on the violin , take a lot of time , not flexible at all . I'll throw them out because they can't be used. I do not recommend buying these surdins. And I am very upset(((

In this package of 12 tourte-style violin mutes, seven of them had not been cut properly and would not slide over the violin strings. Tourte-style mutes should twist onto the violin strings easily between the D and A strings. Someone who isn't familiar with this style of mute might damage the bridge by twisting and trying to install these mutes because the slits on the sides were not properly cut all the way through, and were impossible to install in the condition they arrived in. Seven of the twelve mutes that I received had not been cut properly in the manufacturing process.
