Nourish & Glow: The 10-Day Plan: Kickstart a lifetime of healthy eating : Freer, Amelia: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: The most sensible, helpful and successful nutritional advice with recipes, I lost a stone in 10 days - First of all, Amelia was one of the initial highly educated nutritionists who really made sense to me. She is thoroughly qualified and has trained for years in order to pass on the benefits of her wisdom. She always quotes the evidence base for her methods, peer reviewed articles and the result is that this book is the complete amalgamation of everything we need to know. It isn't faddy, it is a 10 day blueprint to get a proper re-set of your body and mind but more importantly for me, it brings into sharp focus how tortured we have become about our food choices and how actually keeping it simple, and eating more rather than less, (of the good stuff!) fulfils your body's requirements to function properly (AND LOSE WEIGHT) but also your mind. The recipes are delicious and I could give her a HUG for including a shopping list at the beginning. There's also lots I didn't know, e.g. about amino and animal protein. It is written in a very accessible way, not patronising but also not at all complicated. It is just really kind to you. I'm the woman who burns salads and kills people when I cook for them, so this book has helped me enormously with my cooking confidence as well as my organisation...I BOUGHT TUPPERWARE. I LOVE IT. WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME ABOUT TUPPERWARE?? I lost a stone in the 10 days, and am completely delighted. My skin is so good now I have actually stopped wearing moisturiser (except eye cream) and I sleep better and have much better ideas and fewer tears. Basically, this book explains what we need to properly nourish our bodies and minds, and then shows us how to achieve that. I'm mortified by the amount of junk I was putting into my poor bod. No wonder it had shut down. Think I went for days without giving it complete proteins, good fats, minerals and vitamins. NO MORE! Buy this book, READ AMELIA'S WISDOM, then follow the recipes and you will be giving yourself the best Christmas present. Review: A new way of eating clearly explained - Just finished the 10 day plan after the birth of my second baby. 4 months post partum and this is a perfect book for ensuring I'm nourishing my body and my milk for my baby. This book is perfect as it's the ultimate hand-holder. I didn't need to think about what dishes to cook when and what ingredients I needed - it's all laid out. And it's that planning that has put me off in the past. A great idea to set out a plan so conveniently and put me out of my comfort zone and try new recipes. I now have a new repertoire of recipes that I will continue to cook. I've also bought Amelia's cook.nourish.glow book as I like how simple the recipes are. I hope this will be the start of a new way of eating and living. I feel great - not bloated and with more energy. Some reviews have said this is just common sense. Yes, there is no new revelation that eating good whole food is good for your body. But this book tells you how to do it and gives you a good foundation of recipes and ways of looking at a meal that may not have done otherwise. Only annoyance was that I didn't have a pesto recipe in there that was supposed to be. Perhaps I got an earlier unproved copy from desertcart. Otherwise the instructions are spot on and very easy and clear to follow. I lost 4-5 ibs in 10 days which is pretty healthy. Hopefully more to follow!

Great book with lovely recipes which are set out clearly ...
Great book with lovely recipes which are set out clearly and are easy to prepare, particularly lunches for work - without a sandwich in sight! The plan is useful in teaching you what you should be eating daily and how to plan future meals. My only criticism of the plan is that I lack energy, particularly to go to the gym.The author does make it clear that you need to tailor food choices to your energy levels. As a result of this plan, I realise that I require starchy carbs (e.g rice), particularly to exercise. I have to confess that I have not followed it to the tee and have included dairy in the plan. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to eat healthy and to kickstart their health.

Best book to kick- start a lifetime of healthy eating
This book is brilliant. I have Amelia's other books, but I find that this one is the best for anyone who wants to make a step towards better health and nutrition. In the first 3 chapters she talks about what to eat, but also the emotional attachment we all have to food. She gives information on how to deal with cravings, overeating and the myth of willpower. But if you are in a hurry you can just skip to Chapter 4. Chapter 4 gives you a 10 day plan of what to eat whether you are an omnivore or a vegan. The recipes are really easy to make and the ingredients can be found in any major supermarket. She also includes a shopping list. You can decide to do the whole 10 day plan, or just change your habits one meal at a time. As someone who has a lot of cookbooks and books on healthy eating and fitness, this has become my absolute favourite. I liked it so much that I have also purchased it for my ipad, so I can take it on holidayswith me. I cook for a family of 4 which includes a vegetarian, a 10 year old and a husband who likes carbs. Everybody has loved the recipes ( well, I do have to leave the beetroot out of the houmous for the 10 year old), and although I have not done the 10 day plan in one go, I have tried most of the recipes. The grilled fish with orange & avocado salsa is amazing( even though I was sceptical about the salsa initially), wild salmon parcels - yum! Aubergine & chickpea curry - delicious, any recipe I have tried has been a success .... I highly recommend this book.

Il libro e' fatto bene , però si leggono un po' le solite cose che " son di moda " oggi per la salute e il benessere , nulla di nuovo . Come contenuti pensavo meglio . Spedizione, imballo e servizio ottimi

I'm not a fan of "diet books", where you are given a formula to follow. What I love about Amelia is that she emphasizes her nutrition approach isn't about that apart from this kickstart, it's to nurture nourishing ways of being for ourselves that embrace our whole lifestyle and mindset. I love the gentleness of this. Plus I love British culture and lifestyle; Amelia is elegantly epitomizes that sentimentality in such a gorgeously natural way. Great book, I've been touched by it in becoming more gentle with myself in my quest for greater health and fitness, and embracing natural ways of living. It's definitely made a lasting impression. Highly recommended. The only thing I would add is I wish we would see more of Amelia! Her social media/online presence isn't the most robust. Hoping she decides to jump on more! Blessings :)

It's a good-looking book with beautiful photographs but it wasn't useful to me at all. I don't have time to taketen days off to go food shopping and cook three (extensive) meals a day which you would need to if following the 10 day plan. To use it just for indidual recipes misses the point of the book though. I much prefer the author's newest book with only recipes. I returned this one.
