Too much blood needed
Whilst the arrival process was efficient and the online logging seemed sensible and was easy to use, I simply couldn’t get enough blood. This despite being on blood thinners and regularly testing. In the end 3 sore fingers and no test.

Well made And easy to follow
The media could not be loaded. The kit is really well made with everything you need and really clear instructions to follow. Wife is celiac and daughter has symptoms, so it was an ideal test kit without waiting for doctors appointment. There’s an online form to complete, so be ready with weight, height and health info. Really pleased with the process

Could identify a frequently undiagnosed condition
Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition where the immune system in a person's intestine reacts when they eat gluten. It's thought that only one third of people with Coeliac disease are diagnosed and can then change their diet to minimise issues. This test is a simple way of validating if symptoms similar to IBS are caused Coeliac disease.Price at time of review is £60, which isn't unreasonable for a lab diagnosis that you might have to wait years for on the NHS, assuming you can even get a GP appointment.

Blood test...
I'm not sure why I thought that it was a poo test but it's not. That's either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it but it's actually a blood test for this one. I also didn't realise that I had to have included gluten in my diet for 6 weeks before the test so this week I've been introducing it back. I've got another 5 weeks to go but I wouldn't have wanted to send the test back just now anyway due to the Christmas mail backlog holding things up and the strike action not helping. I wouldn't want to trust that my sample made it to the testing lab quickly.I'll be using the results to decide if I need to have further testing. I previously had my blood tested at the hospital and they found enzymes(? or something) that indicated that I had an intolerance to gluten but to get the diagnosis of Cealiac I had to have the camera down my throat and a biopsy. I did have that done but the results were 'spoiled' somehow and I to repeat the test and I'm not in a hurry to do that again any time soon.I'll use these results to decide if I continue doing what I'm doing with my diet and see if I can manage my issues on my own before talking to the Dr again. I'm reluctant to go down the throat camera thing and I'm told that's the only way so maybe I just have to go it alone for now. This test will either confirm my suspicions or it won't. I'll soon fine out I suppose. Not sure which is worse though, the reintroduction of the gluten or collecting the blood, they're both pretty grim but I'll do what I need to do I suppose. The test itself seems very comprehensive and the instructions are very well laid out and clear so I'm pretty confident on how to take the test I'll just have to wait a bit until I get to the results stage.

Useful test and not too expensive
I thought it would be a poo test like other reviewers thought, but it's actually a blood test. You get the kit with four finger prick blood lancets. I wondered why I would need four - I didn't but I needed three to get sufficient blood, You have to do it in the morning and send it off the same day. Everything you need is in the kit - alcohol wipes, gauze, the phial for the blood and the postage paid bag. You must drink a large glass of water at least beforehand (my husband was involved in the ONS Covid survey and he knows exactly what you have to do). You also need to register online and answer quite a few questions about your medical history.I should get the results in a few days - then I'll update the review.

Good so far
So far so good. I've been tested before on the NHS and the results were negative. I recently sent this off so I'm awaiting the results, it'll be interesting to see the accuracy. So far I'll give 4 stars for the product, quality and ease of use. Spare lancets are given and for me personally were needed as I don't bleed easily. I'll update as soon as the results are back.

Excellent, responsible service with guidance all the way
This is my third experience with Let's Get Checked, and every time the service has been exceptional. The advised return time for results is 2-5 days, but every time I've had the results back right on the two-day mark. This Coeliac test is much like the others in the range. First, you activate the test via the app. For each test you do, there's a detailed medical questionnaire, as well as the option to request a call from a health professional when the results arrive. Once that's done, you have a vial and several finger-prickers to take a blood sample yourself in your own time (although note that the instructions require this to be before 10am after a period without food).Collection is quite easy to do, especially if you follow the preparation advice. Warming your hand in a bowl of warm water definitely helps speed up the process and makes for a lot less faff. Once collected, you fill in the forms, bag everything up in the pre-paid envelope, and post it. There's no need to go to the Post Office counter as it's not tracked, so you can put it in any priority box.Two days later, and I have my test results, presented very clearly in a slick web interface, with further recourse to information and other tests if required. The whole thing is so simple and seamless, and done responsibly from start to finish.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Let's Get Checked for home testing - another solid experience from a reliable and trustworthy company.

Coeliac test
I've never officially been diagnosed with coeliac disease but I stopped eating gluten (and dairy) about 4 years ago and I've felt miles better since. The downside of this test is that you have to have been eating gluten for six weeks in order for it to give you an effective result. So, at the moment I'm looking for a six week window in which to inflict gluten upon myself before I take the test. Will report back when the test is complete.
