Works well for occasional use
This works as well as other similar products on the market, but those are often $50 (way too much) and this one was more reasonable at $30.The highest load I plugged in was 15A tables saw + 6A dust collector. The collector is set to on and the switch is set to auto. I use it occasionally with relatively light workloads (small pieces of softwood). Did not notice any issues. It's annoying to that after starting the saw, I have to wait 5 seconds or so for the dust collector to come on. Would be nice to have less delay, but not a huge issue. It's not too hard to toggle with your foot, which is nice, but would be nice if the switch was bigger. The empty area is a nice foothold so you can step on it while pulling plugs out. I like the yellow color, makes it easy to spot. The light is a bit bright, but when I'm not working I turn it off further up the circuit anyway.

Good choice
Simple to install and does exactly as promised.

Huge time saver! I recommend it
I like it. Once I installed it I didn't have to walk around my table saw to turn on the shop vac. Not having to turn on and off the shop vac means I can just work with my tools. The vacuum will turn on and off automatically. Huge time saver!Build quality looks good as well.

Works...until it doesn't--UPDATE--free replacement!--UPDATE 2--crapped out (again)
UPDATE 2: After only a couple months, my replacement crapped out (again). Not only does the switched tool outlet not power on when the main tool is activated, no outlet works. It's a pile of junk. I'm happy that Senctrl proactively leaned forward and replaced my original unit, but the fact that two units in a row failed means I simply cannot recommend this for any serious use. I guess if I were more electrically savvy I might be able to crack this open and replace some defective parts (might be that the defects are replaceable by cheap but robust parts), but this hardly makes this a recommendation to buy. If I were you, dear prospective customer...please go shopping elsewhere (I have).UPDATE: Senctrl responded to my negative-ish review by offering me either a refund or a replacement product. I chose the replacement b/c a) I just wanted an auto vac switch that worked, and b) I do understand that some products simply fail earlier than expected, and was more than willing to give 'em a second chance.I am happy to report that the replacement arrived w/in a few days (Amazon normal), and works perfectly upon installation.I'll update this review if the product appears to fail in an unreasonably short timeframe, but for now, kudos to customer support for standing behind their product--I'm pretty sure that I got the replacement outside the official warranty, and for no questions asked. Happy days.//original review follows//I added this to my table saw setup, so I could simply turn on my saw and the attached shop vac w/ cyclone separator would start automatically, without me having to step around to switch it on. Worked like a charm, and I especially liked the feature that kept the vac powered for seven seconds after the saw stopped, to gobble up all those particles still swirling around. All was good for about five months, until one day it simply stopped working. Cold. More specifically, rocking the switch to "off" indeed means that the vacuum won't start. And the "(always) on" position works. It's just that the justification for this $30 switch, the "auto" position fails to power on the vacuum at all. Now, I can work around this by simply switching the rocker to "on" before I power up my saw, but again, this totally defeats the purpose of a little pricey switch box to begin with. And, yes, I verified the issue was not my vac by plugging in another device into the vac port. Clearly something in the unit fried, and this highly disappoints me. It's a solid state product and should last for years and years.Five months? Look elsewhere IMHO.

Worked well for the first 45 days, replacement still going strong though.
2nd UPDATE: After about an additional year after receiving my replacement unit, I have had no further issues, so am upgrading the rating to 4 stars. While the customer service was good (I never actually reached out to them, they reached out to me after I made my initial review), just the fact that there were issues in the first place will keep it from getting a full 5 stars from me. All portions of the original review and 1st update have been left as originally posted for the sake of context.UPDATE: I am upping the review from 2 stars to 3 stars pending how the new unit behaves/lasts. The seller/manufacturer reached out and offered me a full refund due to my issues (listed below). As I had yet to replace my failed unit, I decided to give them a second chance and they shipped me a new unit at no additional cost to me. Like I mentioned above, I am bumping up the rating to 3 stars just for their customer service, and will update this review again in a few months based on how the replacement unit fares.ORIGINAL: Got this at the end of January, didn't get to start using it for the first 2 weeks due to needing to build my table where my saw would be used. After getting everything hooked up, it worked fine for the next 4 weeks or so then it started behaving weirdly. At first, the relay inside that is controlled by the switch would no longer allow the controlled plug to be turned on instead of auto... no big deal I thought, the main reason I got it to turn on the vac when running the saw, so if I absolutely needed to run the vac from that plug, I would swap it with the other plug manually, problem solved. Then a few days later, the relay stopped turning on the plug when the switch was in the auto position when running the saw. Now the controlled plug no longer turns on no matter what position the switch is in. Now, I am a couple weeks past my return window and stuck with a non working device. This was the least expensive version of this type of plug that I found when searching... maybe I should have spent a little more and gotten a different brand.

As Advertised
I bought this for my sliding compound miter saw, I use a small 2 gallon vacuum on this saw and it was a bit annoying to have to turn the vac on, make a cut, turn the vac off, this outlet fixes that. The delay is nice and I use it, powers the saw and the vac and have had no issues in the year I've used it. Highly recommend.

Used on my miter saw
This device is awesome. Plug and play. I screwed it down next to may miter saw and it works as advertised.
