These things are pretty cool! Once I figured out how to use them (hint: follow instructions and practice on scrap lumber to learn the proper technique and get used to them). I created 48 signs for my property trails and other than my own failures, the finished products were amazing! Very easy to use (but, like I said - practice on scrap pieces to familiarize yourself with the technique!!)

The kit is perfectly designed for what it does. You will need a router. Once you get it set up, my recommendation is to do a bunch of dry runs on the letters once they are set. DO NOT, and I can't stress this enough, DO NOT use painters tape on top of the template. It will drive you nutty. Get some woodworking safe double-sided tape and use it minimally under the template. Don't use mounting tape, it is designed to not release. Use the online template guide, it will tell you if there are double passes or kerning required. If you pay attention and go slow, you will get great results! Be safe.

I was trying to get a nice stencil set for a job I had and finally found the right size. The sizing is a little confusing and could use some clarity.

I thought this smaller size template for some routing projects and the first set had an error of the #6 as it twice as many of 1/2 of the 6. This will make sense if you understand this product and how for some letters and numbers there are two templates. One does part of it and the second one does the rest. I contact Rockler thinking they could just send me the two little pieces that I needed instead of retuning the entire set. They told me since I bought it at Amazon, I had to deal with their customer service. I contacted Amazon and they immediately sent me a replacement set and I retuned the screwed up set. It’s a great template for use with a router and I like how they connect together and have spacers when needed. AND you can go on to Rockler.com and enter the words or whatever you want to make and it tells you want to use foremost res and stuff. And this free. It’s great.

Great product and works verry well

These are very simple to use and the results are great. Double-stick tape along the top and bottom edges provides the most stable hold-down I've found. It also allows swapping out the two-part letter templates easily without disturbing the remaining templates.

A learning curve for a novice, but I was able to accomplish my goal and impressed with the outcome!
