As a routing newbie, this Einhell router has been brilliant. I previously used a heavy wired plunge router which was arduous. Wish I'd had this machine sooner. It is so much better - light-weight, manoeuvrable and accurate. I already had other Einhell kit so the batteries work across the range - I use a bigger size battery from a chainsaw, which didn't affect my control of this router at all. As others have mentioned, I bought this with the Makita collet (link below) so I could use 1/4" bits. Worked a treat - the old collet lifts out (I used pliers to pull it out) and the new one slides in. Easy. An Excellent piece of kit 👍

As with other power exchange machines that I have from einhell, this little router ticks lots of boxes. The only failing is the lack of a 1/4" collet. That is the reason for only 4 stars. The makita 1/4" collet fits perfectly and can be purchased via amazon. I do consider it to be good value and being cordless, to be easy to use without the encumbrance of power cables, truly portable.

This is a lovely little trim router. One of the reason I chose it was that I already had some Einhell batteries. In reviews this router seemed to be second only to DeWalt palm router, but much cheaper. I already had a lot of quarter inch diameter router bits, but this Einhell router DOES NOT have a collet for 1/4 " bits. It takes 6mm bits which are different enough not to fit. Solution is easy. Buy a quarter inch collet. The Makita 763637-1 Collet Cone is perfect (and available on Amazon). Now I can use all router bits. It is a pity that Einhell does not include such a collet in the box. In use this little router is lightweight and reasonably quiet. It has proved powerful enough for anything I have used it for: creating lettering on signs, rounding edges, etc. It does come with guides, dust extraction connector etc, but I haven't used those. I am very pleased with this item.

Good tool but you need to be careful with it as it can catch you and jump , I've been using it for trim cutting. Does not last long but I only have a 3amh battery. For the price I'm happy with it.

Works very well, im impressed with its performance. I do have a problem it only comes with 6 & 8mm collets and not standard 1/4". There is no collets you can buy to fit from einshell to fit 1/4" bits. SO i bought new collets that will fit 1/4" bits and machined them to fit
