Good Value produce for Venipuncture practice
Review for Sim Arm:Overall I’m really pleased with this product. I’m a nursing school instructor, and due to COVID-19, our students have been unable to attend hospital clinicals. I bought this arm because I needed to provide our students with IV insertion training in a simulated environment. What I liked most about this product is the quality of the simulation arm. The sim arm is detailed, and the veins are in the correct anatomical position. Students were able to practice insertion on multiple sites. The arm has both superficial and deep veins, which must be palpated. From years of experience, I know that being able to palpate a suitable vein is the most important aspect of starting IVs and drawing blood. This simulator is probably the best substitute for a live patient. In fact, I plan to use this simulation arm with future classes, prior starting our clinical rotations. Using the simulator, the student is able to practice all of the steps involved with starting an IV and develop muscle memory. This helps them to have greater confidence and a better chance of success. Of course, this is better for the patients as well! The artificial blood system was really easy to set up. It did not leak at all. After each needle stick, the arm reseals and the puncture site is virtually imperceptible. It is also really nice that it the package came with artificial blood powder so that I didn’t have to buy red food coloring. It also comes with a large syringe so that you can clean out and dry the arm after you’re done using it. They even include a few IV catheters that are similar to the ones used at our clinical site. Be careful because the needles do not have safety locking mechanisms. However, we were able to use them for multiple venipuncture practices. I definitely recommend using the blue absorbent pad underneath the arm when you are using it. Just like when inserting an IV on a real patient, you’ll need to the occlude the vein well when removing the needle from the catheter. I would also recommend using a piece of paper or each other to practice securing the catheter with a dressing. Otherwise, the arm gets sticky from the adhesive. But it is easy to clean off with alcohol prep padsI would recommend this product to other schools and instructors that are needing to switch over to simulation labs for clinical. It would also be a good investment for students as well so that they can continue to practice at home. I looked at a few other products available, and they were either a few hundred dollars over budget, or they looked like they were cheaply made and the arm was not very realistic. I think this was a good quality product and a great value for the price.

This practice arm was a very useful tool for practicing blood draws. Very realistic.

Great for phlebotomy practice
What's not to love? Fake blood, syringes with sharp needles, and an ability to stick the arms as often as you desire. I experimented with the arm to get it set up correctly, Instructions were 80% complete. Once we got it working, my wife, daughter, and I had a lot of fun drawing blood from the syringe. This is a keeper. Now that my daughter is in a phlebotomy class, she can practice on the arm to improve her 'stick stats'.

Needs improvement
Veins are too surface level, artificial skin is too tough to be considered real, and the materials aren't in good supply nor updated to current day standards

Very good for practice
Nursing student. Purchased this in 2021 for one semester, passed my lab performance exam. Left school for a bit (had a baby) and I’m back in lab this semester. This is honestly so helpful. During my performance exam the instructor asked if I do IV’s at my current job. He said I did it so fluidly. I told him I bought this arm and practiced a lot, he said it shows. We’re not graded on blood return so I didn’t attach the liquid to it. Overall happy I purchased this for the practice.

Excellent product!!!
This has been an absolute lifesaver since in-person nursing clinicals have ben canceled or extremely limited. The product is very high quality, feels very realistic, & is easy to set up and use. If you are a student and questioning whether this product will be valuable for practicing IV starts & draws, I assure you this is one of the best investments you will make in your education/skills practice. Excellent product!

Works as expected
The media could not be loaded. My first impression straight out of the box is that it worked as expected. The written setup instructions could have been a little more detailed about when to open and close clamps but I figured it out without watching the video. I am happy with my purchase.

Good for OSCE practice at home
I got this for OSCE practice at home as I'm not great at venipuncture. contains MOST of what you would need e.g doesn't have vacutainers and their holder, butterfly needles but for overall practice it's quite good.

Rusty straight from the box
Such a shame, well packaged but IV post was rusty straight from the box. Was a Christmas gift so now unable to send back without leaving someone gift less.
