Texture and taste are wrong. No lemon flavor at all
I was really excited for these to arrive, but now I’m extremely disappointed. I usually love mochi candy, as well as mochi filled with ice cream. However, these candies are gross. They’re basically nothing like the mochi candy treats I’ve had in the past, purchased at my local Asian family-owned grocery store. Usually these candies have a soft, jelly-like center that is delightful and fruity. But when I bit into one of these, the texture of the filling was more of a grainy paste. The closest I can come to a description would be the texture of wasabi, (WITHOUT the flavor!), or a medium-boiled egg yolk. I don’t know if the photos on the page for this product were borrowed from elsewhere, but the ones they showed cut in half are nothing like what I ended up with. I’ve included a picture of one I cut in half. Since I am now stuck with 3 boxes of these and unable to get a refund, I guess it doesn’t matter what I do with them. I suppose the reason for the off putting texture could be that the candy was old, but according to the packages it doesn’t expire until 8/20/24. So I can’t say that for sure.In terms of the lemon taste they were supposed to have, that was nonexistent. These did not taste like lemon at all, or even smell like lemon. I’m not willing to take another bite out of one to give a more accurate description of what they DO taste like, but I’ve read reviewers describe it as “chemical-like,” and that is the closest thing to my experience that I found.Overall, these are disgusting and disappointing. I didn’t spend very much but I do feel like I deserve a refund. I’d never seen lemon flavored mochi candy before and I got excited enough to buy the 3 pack, but in the future, I think I’m going to stick to the local grocery store, despite the lack of variety there.

Fresh and soft
Great flavor and lovely smooth texture. One is a treat but 2 are pure decadence. Very satisfying.

No mango flavor, overly sweet
These mango flavored mochis have no mango flavor and are very sweet. A look at the ingredients shows that actual mango is far down the list, even for the "Mango Paste" filling, being behind ingredients like Sweet Potato and Radish. Mango is actually the SIXTH ingredient in the listing for the "Mango Paste" filling.Sugar and Maltose are listed several times in the overall ingredient list. The glutenous rice dough is pretty good, but desperately needs a better filling.

Gritty textured filling
The enjoyed the outside. It is soft and stretchy. The inside is not so great. It has a strong artificial taste and gritty texture. If it had a better flavor I would not mind the texture as much. I will try different flavors to see if they are better.

Strawberry flavor had a weird vinegar smell
I got 2 flavors from this brand and there was something wrong with the strawberry flavored ones. They had some moisture in the package, and when I opened them they had a strange vinegar like smell. I tried a small bite and the outside tasted normal but the filling had a weird, unpleasant taste to it. Definitely won't try this flavor again. The banana flavor was decent, a little bland for my liking but wasn't bad. This package appeared normal with dry powder and no strange smell. Overall it was a decent buy.

Sticky, Slimy, and with a Chemical-type Flavor
The media could not be loaded. I adore mochi. It's the perfect pairing to go with boba tea, green tea, herbal tea, and other drinks that I love. I also love the flavor of honeydew melon. So I was absolutely convinced that this Fusion Select daifuku mochi would be delightful.Right from when I opened up the outer shipping package, the mochi seemed wrong. The inside sealed package was full of condensation. The eight mochi were all stuck to the plastic. I cut open that inner package and had some trouble pulling the plastic liner out, because it was so sticky in there. One of the mochi remained stuck inside. The mochi were sticky to hold, gooey, and tasted like undone pasta dough. The texture was slimy and the green innards had a chemically flavor to them. I absolutely would not want to eat these again. Normally I try to eat a few of something, because sometimes over time you can get used to a flavor and like it better. But I had zero desire to 'get used' to this flavor, texture, stickiness, etc.The mochi are definitely well within their expiration date, and the package says to store at room temperature. I got them in the spring when the weather was absolutely beautiful and cool. I took them off my front steps immediately - they didn't even 'sit around' for any length of time. I promptly ate one.Has anyone else had this issue?
