Kingfisher Mini Lantern Nut Feeder

I'm giving this 5 stars as it's such a lovely looking little feeder and good quality, sadly it didn't work too well for my purpose though which was to try and find something that was at least somewhat starling proof. Unfortunately the cage just gave the greedy beggars something to hang onto while they scoffed the lot, my search continues!

Not the best quality but they do look attractive and I suspect, once I have drilled a hole or two in the base for drainage, they will do the job for which they were bought. Sadly, they are let down by the lid which didn't sit flat on the mesh. Poor quality wiring and welding allowed me to jigger the wires so that the lid did, in the end, sit flatish on the top of the mesh in the end. Better attention to quality control may have avoided this. Time will tell if in fact they are squirrel proof.

Lid was wonky, but not a huge issue and the small birds seem to be enjoying it. Pretty small, so it doesn’t hold much but as the squirrels can’t get in, it doesn’t need refilling too often.

While it is a nice looking bird feeder, within a day of it being put out the squirrels had got in to it.

Having decided to instal a nutfeeder in my garden I saw this one illustrated on Ebay at a very reasonable price. It fulfilled my expectations in use and arrived securely packed speedly delivered. A quality article at a remarkably good price.

It’s a nice thing, but in my garden sadly the birds seemed to avoid itI’d be more inclined to use as a decoration for outdoor candles.

Item well made and well priced but smaller than expected

Je cherchais une petite mangeoire à poser sur un balcon.Mes impératifs :1) qu'elle ne soit pas trop haute, mais plutôt "trapue" pour ne pas être renversée par le vent;2) que les oiseaux de type pigeon ou pie ne puissent accéder trop facilement à la nourriture et vider la mangeoire en quelques heures.Cette dernière situation est un problème en cas d'absence de plusieurs jours (impossibilité de remplir la mangeoire), les mésanges (et autres oiseaux de petite taille) se retrouvant alors "le bec dans l'eau".Cette mangeoire remplit donc parfaitement cet objectif.

Les petits oiseaux ne peuvent rentrer dans la protections.et les gros secouent et fond tomber le contenu au sol pour servir.
