De'Longhi DCH6031 Ceramic Fan Heater, White

Updated review! This has been ideal. I wanted a background heater for our birds that would come on when the room got chilly or the central heating was off. However, when you have birds/parrots, you have to make sure any space heaters are free from chemicals that are deadly to birds. The people at De'Longhi were the only ones to get back to me with a speedy and confident answer so I chose this heater.It does the job really well, provides a good amount of instant heat, and being ceramic some heat remains even while the fan is off. I've only had to use it on power setting 1, and the dial for the temperature is simple (it's not digital, you need to turn it until it kicks in to see what temperature it will come on at). This is fine for me as I soon got an idea of what setting to leave it on overnight.It has a safety cut out if its knocked over or on an uneven surface, and it has nice fine mesh in the front and nowhere attractive for birds to perch!!I thought the price was great and it's a nice portable little heater and would be very useful if the GCH ever breaks down.*Update. Still working well with no issues!**Update 2! Now going into my 2nd winter with this and still very pleased. Love it. Found this through Which, and am not disappointed. Haven't had a single issue. It heats up a room seriously fast, and the automatic thermostat is nice and accurate. It's also very quiet as far as fan heaters go which is great. You can watch TV or have a chat and completely forget that it's there. It also looks good, and the remote is a nice luxury.Negative points - It's firstly got a bit of a burning/ceramic smell, but that has started to burn off already. However the main downside for me is that it doesn't have a fully-automatic timer on it. As in; you can't program it to come on at 5am and then turn off at 6am. This would seem like a pretty basic function to me, but who knows.You can however set the heater to come on after a specific number of hours. So usually when I get into bed, I take a look at the time, and then set it to switch on a little while before my alarm clock. It will power up using the last temperature and power settings used when it was on. You have to program this action every day, but it's a good compromise to not having any automation at all.In short, love it. It's a well designed piece of kit, minus the lack of a programmable automatic timer.

I bought one of these heaters over five years ago and it is still working perfectly!I now wanted to buy another heater for a second room, I was glad to find that this was still being sold on Amazon.The heater was versatile and easy to maintain; it had a filter at the back to trap fluff and dust getting into the heating elements which was great as this (I'm guessing) extended the life of the heater. The oscillating base was smooth in action and doesn't creak.What can I say? This heater was reliable...however PLEASE BE AWARE - now it does not show on the Amazon product page that this heater is now DISCONTINUED; this means you will NOT be able to register this item with De'Longhi. I had an eChat with De'Longhi who said that if the heater needed repair within 1yr of purchase, then I should send them a copy of my invoice/receipt and the item will be covered. It is nonetheless disappointing to see that the seller does not indicate that this item is now discontinued.I also emailed the seller who has confirmed that the item is covered by guarantee. However, having been reassured I decided to plug it in and switch it on...and...It doesn't work! It seems it ONLY works when you turn the heat dial right up...even in a cold room; I tried placing it next to the window where it's really colder but the heater still did not work until heat dial was turned up to near-max! Giving it the benefit of the doubt, I tried the (exact same) older heater and that still works perfectly; the thermostat works correctly so that where the room is really cold the older heater came on and stayed on when the dial was at minimum. But this new heater did not work. I'm sending it back to get a full refund because it does not work…oh and THEN it switches off after about 20 seconds!

After looking at many many of these heaters, we took a chance on this one. We have a very large bedroom and ensuite, and yes, it gets chilly on occasion, so, when this little heater turned up, we didn't hold out much hope that it would warm such a large space. But we were wrong. Bear in mind, we are talking a very large bedroom and, ensuite, within an hour it's toasty and warm. This little thing is a miracle worker. You don't immediately have a sense that it's going to do a good job, but, leave it on for an hour and even with our size rooms to heat, its fantastic.Not really any downsides, we have our plugged into an extension lead (protected one), and, into an alexa plug so we can use it via alexa (turn on /turn off)There is a little "new smell" from it, but honestly, after a week or so of use, it's gone, and nothing you wouldn't expect from a new product.All in all, very very happy with it, lovely heat and small enough to not be big and bulky

Effective, doesn't take up too much room

Diseño muy elegante y muy bien rematado en acabados.Totalmente táctil.... el mando a distancia que trae lo hace muy cómo de usar.... aunque no lleva un compartimento donde guardarlo y anda dando vueltas por la mesa.Muchas opciones... Bastante silencioso. Encantado con la compra.
