Good, box set but questions over the quality
A box set I'd been wanting for a while and I purchased while on offer at £38.70. The book is a nice thing to flick through and the vinyls seem good pressings, the slip mat looks great and it's sits on my turntable all the time now, the stickers I can't imagine ever leaving the boxes again and the tour pass thing is a cool little trinket. I don't think anyone would be looking at buying a daft punk live box set of this price of they didn't like daft punk so I won't talk about the music. However I do have some complaints and on the whole I found the quality to be very sketchy. My first order turned up and the box set itself seems to have marks on the back like dust that doesn't fully come off. The back of the vinyl sleeves were scuffed, in some parts to the extent you could see the white paper underneath. One of the sleeves was torn across the top, edge so much you could see through it. No way I could accept this so Amazon did kindly replace it. The second boxsetmis still not what I'd call perfect and still has some of the dust type marks but at least wasn't ripped. However I have given it a rating which I feel reflects the quality issues

Daft Punk's Live Albums rolled into one AMAZING Boxset!!
This has to be the best thing that has graced this earth. The main box which everything comes in is very crisp and clean cut branded with the silver Daft Punk logo. On opening the box the first goody emerges, the download code for both digital albums, the Alive 2007 encore and bonus music video for Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger as performed by the duo during their Alive 2007 tour. Alive 2007 comes in its own gate-fold sleeve with a beautiful panoramic picture of the duo performing during the tour which both vinyls pressed in 180g white. The encore comes in a separate sleeve with the Alive 2007 logo etched on the rear of the vinyl also pressed in 180g white.Alive 1997 is in a basic sleeve and is pressed in 180g marble textured vinyl which is very cool. Also comes included with a sticker sheet which various Daft Punk related logos and prints from the Alive 1997 tour. And finally the Alive 2007 photo booklet is an amazing 52 page Hardcopy of pure art. Pictures were all taken by DJ Falcon a good friend of the duo from when they both started out, and features in a collaboration from their latest album; Random Access Memories. Again is very crisp and clean and just wonderful to look at and hold.If you haven't already listened to these two albums, do not hesitate!!Alive 1997 is one giant 45 minute live mix recorded in Birmingham, England. It is very high energy, techno, electronic, house with Daft Punk doing what they do best in terms of remixes and flipping things upside down.Alive 2007 is pure Daft Punk genius. They prove what they can do as they rip apart and mash together songs from their previous 3 albums, along with some side projects the duo have participated in. The Encore is by far the most amazing track from the set, featuring Thomas' collaborations with Stardust and DJ Falcon to create a 10 minute endless tribute to them all. This is a must buy for any Daft Punk fan!!! Poor quality vinyl ruins an otherwise superb collection.
I love the content, but the quality of the pressing is poor at best, warped records, seems to lose the track at various intervals which may well be due to scratches on the vinyl! If you're a fan, you can overlook these issue, but it is quite poor on such a highly priced collectors edition, real shame.
