Not great
This is so light that it’s basically useless outside, it just gets blown away by the slightest breeze. It’s very difficult to control, even for adults, my 9 year old doesn’t manage it. It just bumps into everything.

One of the propellers stopped working after a few days
Gave this to my grandson for Christmas. One of the propellers stopped after a few days. His Dad (my son-in-law) has tried to get it fixed but no response so far from seller.

Fun little toy drone
The media could not be loaded. Fun little starter drone that would make a nice birthday / Christmas gift for a child. I really liked the clear instruction overlay provided with the controller, much more intuitive than referring to a manual when the kids just want to see the thing fly! Few options semi-automated like takeoff, landing, even doing a flip - which again is great for littler starter pilots. Battery doesn't last a huge amount of time (15-20 mins ish?) but happily you get two batteries included in the pack so you can do a quick swap and keep flying.Wish there was a clearer indicator of where the 'front' of the drone is before you turn it on, but all in all a fun toy

Ok for small kids to learn with, but that's about it.
This is a neat little drone, operated by a single clip on battery pack (there are two in the box), with the remote requiring 3 x AAA batteries, which are not provided. The remote is pretty basic, and the buttons can easily be mastered by kids within a few minutes, but this is still quite tricky to fly, and it's also quite noisy too. Note:- there is no camera featured on this model. The rollover feature works well, but only when the battery is fully charged, and when this drone gets stuck in a corner, it is devilishly difficult to manoeuvre it back out again. Battery life is a rather disappointing 8-10 minutes, and this is really designed more for indoor use than outdoor use. It has a reasonable range on it, but nowhere close to more expensive drones. I like the variable lightshow, although this must cane the battery pack, and would probably have been better left off. On my first attempt this hovered a little too close to my daughters head, and managed to get tangled in her hair, which didn't impress her at all because we needed to get the scissors out (Oops). Bear this in mind because it is a little too easy to do whilst you are familiarizing yourself with the controls. This is a good first drone for kids, but that's about it. Younger kids will have hours of fun with it, or 20 minutes fun at a time, with the rest of the time spent recharging the battery packs. Personally I'd rather put £50 towards a similar sized, or slightly smaller outdoor drone with a camera, but this is a good starting point for a child, who can then progress to something better. It comes with spare blades, a tool to remove the battery compartment, and battery pack, and a tool to enable you to change the blades, although this is fairly robust, and should withstand the vast majority of knocks. 3.5 stars.

Really well designed drone for longevity and ease of use
I remember first buying/being given drones and ‘flying machines’ a decade or so ago when my son was around 10 and ascinated by things like that. They always turned out to be a disappointment; usually pretty flimsy and almost impossible to control, especially for a child. Inevitably you’d put them carefully on the floor, press the start button/joysticks and the rings would throw itself uncontrollably up into the air, crashing into the ceiling or veering wildly over to smash against the wall or whatever.Things have developed so much from there and this Tomzon drone is such a great example of how the design has evolved since then. it is built to be way more robust and sturdy and the controls and flying procedures are so much more controllable. I think this is great!A few of my high points: THe drone comes with two separate batter units that clip into the underside of the drone. This means you can be charging one while the drone is flying with the other. Also, the connections between drone and battery and between battery and charging cable are good solid plu-in attachments - none of these little connectors dangling from flimsy red and blue wires. So much more robust and resistant to accidents damage. The remote control unit (takes 3 AAA batteries, not included) is really pretty straightforward but , just to help beginners, they include a card overlay which labels each button and joystick so when you’re getting started you don’t have to memorise it all from an instructions booklet and then try and keep all the details in your head! The drone has four propellers that are lit by LED and two are green LED and two blue LEDs. The two blue ones are teh front ones - so that is the direction a ‘forward command’ from teh joystick will send the drone. Such and easy and obvious way of orienting which way the thing is pointing and which way it will move - way easier than trying to work it out from, say the shape of the hull, or something.Once in the air, onee joystick moves the drone horizontally, the other controls height up and down. BUt, getting it up into teh air is so simple. THere’s a take of and landing button. Place the drone on the floor or table and press this button and it lifts in a calm controlled way vertically off the surface and hovers in the air. Press it again and the drone settles itself in a controlled fashion down on the the floor again. So simple and controlled, especially for kids beginning to learn how to use it.Overall, I’m really impressed with this toy.

not just for kids!
The media could not be loaded. This is great fun - not just for kids - in fact it's me (the dad) in the household using it the most - annoying everyone else!Good points:- very easy to setup (it basically works out of the box, no need to pair the controller with drone etc.)- very easy operation, automatic take off and landing with one button press and easy navigation- SAFE - it's is very very safe, the blades are protected thus look like will not cut anyone or anything, the drone itself bounces off walls if they are hit- comes with two batteries that each last fairly long (each at least 10 minutes - this is quite good for a drone)What annoys my family (but not me): it's quite loud for such a small thing and do not fly it close to papers or they'll fly around ;)
