Spelling Power, Student Record Book, Green Grades 4-6

We use the Spelling Power Book and these notebooks make testing the kids so much easier than a typical notebook would. The right side of the page is for testing the kids the words and writing the rule at the top of the page. The left side of the page (back side of the testing page the day before), is for re-writing the words they got wrong and going through the various questions to help learn the misspelled word. There are little check boxes that help to remind the kids (and teacher) what those questions are so you don't have to keep the questions out once you get fluent enough in them. It is nice to have all the misspelled words available to re-test at future dates and all the pre-written boxes and spaces that remind you and your child of the various steps in the program. The notebooks are also bound nicely so they will last well throughout the year and beyond. I bought them for all 5 of my kids and am very glad I did.

Falling apart right out of the box, but unfortunately we need this for our curriculum so it's not like we have a choice. The paper and the cover even is super thin. Held "together" (I'm using that word loosely) by two staples. Just over all very cheaply made. Not worth the money but it is what it is.

Good product for use with Spelling Power. Deducted one star because the paper is inferior to a typical composition book. The cover is also just a heavy paper, not cardboard like I expected.

I love these record books. So helpful to have the 10step study sheets.

I recommend getting these notebooks to go with the Spelling Power curriculum!

This notebook is helpful if you don't have the time to organize a testing notebook. If you do have time then it really isn't needed. It has sheets for the placement test, etc. All of the test pages have the backs organized for studying and learning missed words. It's easy for me to browse through the notebook and quickly see the words that we need to "check on" for recall. My 4th grader likes it too.

Just right for my 4th grader to take her daily tests using Spelling Power! This is a perfect way to keep track of daily tests, study words and keep track of the levels she is working on. If you are using Spelling Power, you need to have a record book to keep it all organized.

The book is very poorly put together. The staples didn't hold the pages in the book. All the pages fell out of the book within the first week of use. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I should've just kept printing the pages like I had been doing for the past few years. I thought this would make Spelling simpler for us, but it was a waste of money. I think we will just buy a composition notebook and use for this purpose. It will be much more efficient.
