Miniatures / Models — notes for use
My experience with Biostrip: - Stripped acrylic paint from plastics and white metal. - Did not damage or deform plastics or white metal. - Did not weaken glues that fuse plastics (N-Butyl acetate, etc.); plastic miniatures were intact. - Weakened glue on metal miniatures; metal miniatures were in pieces (desirable for me). - Required a 30 - 60 minute soak, followed by brushing to remove loose paint. - Thick and/or layered paint required two or three applications. - Hollow cavities filled with Biostrip; once inside it was difficult to drain. - Looks like white custard, discolours with use, and has a weak, inoffensive odour. - Water insoluble and cannot be diluted. - Did not stain my sink, bench or skin (though gloves were worn to avoid skin contact). I'll be using this product again, when I next have plastic miniatures to restore. - It's cheaper to buy the 750 ml spray bottle than the 500 ml tub. - For metal miniatures, it's cheaper to use strong nail varnish remover (~98% acetone) or pure acetone. However, acetone has toxic fumes, is flammable and can stain/discolour surfaces; Biostrip is probably a safer option.

Used on Chalk paint and shellac
Did a four poster bed in chalk paint and shellac - big mistake! The shellac holds dirt and lint and after a while just looks a mess. Got this product as it said it works, which it does, and it doesn't stink the house out. It isn't a miracle product, but it does work and you can wash down with water when done for the day. It's a huge mahogany wood panel bed, so I am just doing it bit at a time, starting with the dirty sections. It looks better already - better clean wood than grimy chalk paint - so just looks like a real shabby chic job or maybe a work in progress. Paint some on, I'm not using the spray, go do something else, come back, paint another coat on, go do some more something elses, then come back and scrape the paint off. Wash down with water (brings the residue off and a bit more paint), dry with a cloth and all is well, you can continue to use the item, in this case can make the bed and sleep in it that night, not discernible fumes.

Paint stripper
Lady 'stripper' - basic DIY skills but no more - needed to strip back paint b4 leaving current house - saw this 'panic in a paintpot' and thought it might just do the job.....brilliant - does just what it says in the reviews.....strips back paint a layer at a time without any toxic splashes or smell. Looks like wallpaper glue when first applied and after half an hour, nothing - thought 'useless' - 5 mins later paint suddenly began to blister and lift...amazing - top gloss coat came off easily - undercoat of tile paint (did say lady stripper with few DIY skills) more resistant but coming off and some areas completely clean now after 3/4 coats - found better to wait longer and the longer I waited the better the result. Only criticism, fine spray so difficult to get adequate coverage on wide areas and winder spray would have been better but compensated by spreading stripper with a brush...overall, quite pleased with sped/result etc and when adding nil toxidity/no smell or fumes to breathe in, yeh, am 110% happy.....just be patient with it and it works amazingly well - impressed and now happily stripping in kitchen all the time - but only paint, not self!! Not odour Free as is advertised smells horrible
I have been using bio strip as like the fact it is non toxic and odeor free. I can't use any harsh chemical as have 4 young children. And can't use any chemicals with strong odeors as gives me a bad headache and also have pet birds and strong fumes are not good for them. The tubs of bio strip 20 are fine and have no odour but I decided to try the spray as you get more and thought it might be easier to apply. We have just tried it and it is definitely not odour free, fumes and smell is so strong and chemically. It smells more than chemical paint stripers and even smells stronger than every paint and varnish I have used. I now have a headache. Can't use again, so have wasted my money and am now concerned about my birds. Do not buy this if want odour free. As is not odour free.

Brilliant.
After reading most of the reviews, I chose to buy the spray. I found that it is easy to use, but it is better to spray it near, on even onto the brush. I have been stripping wooden kitchen cabinet doors. Without this product one door took hours of sanding, and left me with aching wrists! Spray this on, leave it until the paint is wrinkled and it scrapes off easily. No fumes or smell! I tried the clingfilm as recommended by one user, but found it did not do anything in my case. Just leave the liquid fairly thick, especially in the edges and it scrapes off. It is going to save me a lot of time and effort.

Not for hard jobs
It would be great if it worked , but it doesn't. I bought it to strip one layer of red gloss off the front door. I sprayed it on and came back after 45 mins. It had dried to a white dusty coating and nothing had happened. I kept on spraying and coming back for the whole until the whole bottle was finished. The result was some really wet areas that bubbled up and the the paint came off completely. Some areas it had no effect on. Maybe it was the front door and the situation and it works better indoors. At least it doesn't burn your hands and washes away with water. I think it could work but not on outside jobs.

Does the job.
What more can I say? Used it to remove some very thick multi layer paint off some terracotta tiles on my windowcill. Took three applications but it was very thick and layered paint so I wasn't surprised. They came up lovely.

Marche vraiment
