absolutely the best espresso roast beans
Have tried many other brands, but Taylor's espresso roast is the richest, smoothest, most intensely flavoured bean out there (without the bitterness so often found in 'espresso' beans). We use the Melitta filter pour over method, and these beans surpass any others we've tried (many of them at much greater expense). The 3-pk of 1 kg bags is an incredible value. Hope that Taylor's never stops offering it. Added bonus is the rainforest certification. Excellent coffee beans!

A good option
My previous favourite coffee bean was recently discontinued, so I have been searching for a replacement. This is a good bean, making an espresso with sufficient depth that it is also good in a cappuccino. No bitterness and a pleasant aftertaste make it quite a success (and useful given it was a 3 pack purchase).I like it and it may well turn into my new favourite, but I am still playing the field and haven’t quite decided as yet.

Lovely fresh, full flavoured coffee.
Beans beat ground coffee every day as it stays fresher - you only grind what you need. Like many, I'm serious about my coffee &, even before buying a "bean to cup" coffee machine at the beginning of lockdown, this has been my first choice coffee. (Previously, I would grind it for a coffee filter). As the packs are airtight & can be stored in a cool ambient area, the three pack is ideal.

Change in bean..... For the worst.
I've been drinking this particular bean for the last 4/5 years buying 3kg at a time. Always been spot on in terms of healthy dark oily looking beans with a rich chocolately intense flavour. This new batch with the updated packaging / design are terrible. The beans are light brown, dry and you can smell the bitterness before they are even ground. The taste is almost putrid. The coffee beans are dry, over roasted and brittle with no sign of any oil left. I've been drinking this same coffee bean for about 4/5 years and it has been excellent. I'm hoping that this has been a blip in their processing but I've 3kg's of coffee beans that are undrinkable (over £40's worth) and I dread to buy anymore at this premium price to find out that this is Taylors of Harrogates new standard. I'm assuming it is as I would hate to think that Quality Control has let this poor quality bean slip through the net unless this is what they intend to push on to their customers. I won't be buying it again.

Oily Beans
I usually buy the Taylors Rich Italian Beans but they are very variable in price and also weren't available at the time, so I thought I'd give these a try. Whilst they are decent in terms of taste (used in an Andrew James bean to cup machine) the beans are very oily, so sometimes stick to the bean hopper rather than falling in to the grinder and you end up with very inconsistent strength of coffee. Means that the hopper needs to be removed and cleaned an awful lot more often, and would probably cause blockages on a blade grinder.

Perfect coffee
Spent a long time looking for a perfect bean for my coffee machine and tried about ten on this site. This is a very strong Italian bean with a wonderful taste. I have now stopped looking.
