Can you bake it in an ordinary oven? If so, what temperature?

No , you can’t bake it in an ordinary oven . The temperature can’t reach a kiln’s high temperature. You can , however , bake polymer clay in an ordinary oven . Amazon sells polymer clay too . It comes in white and numerous colors . Hope this info helps.

What cone have people been firing this to? I'm not using my own kiln so I can't test it myself

I have fired it to cone 6 with a 5 minute hold and another time to cone 5 with a 10 minute hold. It depends on the glaze, too. Do test tiles to get a good measure.

This won’t harden without heating

You have to fire pieces made with this clay in a kiln. It is not air drying clay.
