I ordered this book for my children who both recently started training at our local academy. They both love this book and it gives them a good frame work to recognize and be familiar with the techniques that they are learning in class. Great for all ages, I use this book not only to connect with my kids during bed time reading over something we enjoy together and also use the boldly highlighted first letters to help teach my youngest to read! He enjoys the lessons and doesn’t get bored as quickly when he’s sounding out words about something he’s interested in. Not only does the book contain information on the fundamental techniques of jiu-jitsu, it’s got some awesome intangible pearls for helping out little humans grow into better people. Can’t recommend this book highly enough!

Love this for kids of any age who train jiu jitsu. Content is also fun for adults! Will be buying for all our family members who train. Would highly recommend!!

Nice book. I like and my kid likes it. But letters S and T, which I assume would stand for Submission and Tap, are MISSING! If I get contacted and sent an intact copy I'll change my review to 5-stars.

This book is exactly what we needed and more than we expected. With an 8 yr old learning jiu jitsu over the past year, it’s critical that we’re learning and then reinforces the basics, the foundation that we’ll build on. Aside from preparing the body and mind for competition, we wanted to make it fun, and appreciate the history of the sport that’s taken over our daughters mind. This book accomplishes all four points above. What more could you ask? The graphics are phenomenal and we’re on our third time through the book. Great job and excited for the next one.

If you or your kids are into martial arts this book is a must have. Great illustrations. Wonderful explanation of key terms used in BJJ and Martial Arts. Really enjoy reading again and again. Great reference material to have around.

Anything from Jocko publishing is going to be solid. This book is great to own. I was pleased to hear Jocko finally mention this book at the end of one of his recent episodes. It seems like a must-own for any BJJ person or family. Could be a conversation piece, a kids book, or a coloring book.

My 8 year old Jiu Jitsu focused son loves this book. The graphic novel style is fantastic and captures exactly what the book is trying to teach about the art. Very happy to have this one.

My 30 year old husband loved this as a birthday gift. Its been a few months and he has used it after training to get more info or a refresh on moves he is working on. Me, who doesn't do BJJ, have found this book great to understand what he is talking about all the time

Large words, large drawing, few pages, basic but important ideas. Good for kids under 12, may be too simple for teens or adults.
