'The Culture of Craft'
This book is very useful for people who are researching the culture behind crafts and designer-makers. It explains the historical side of crafts well, but mainly focuses on problems faced by modern makers and the social issues of consumerism. Peter Dormer provides a good introduction to the actual meaning of the word 'craft' and its origins. It is a very detailed book and great for writing a craft-related dissertation.
