Very good game.
The game is very well made. All of the components, board, cards, pieces, are first class. I belong to a Shakespeare reading group which is on its second reading of all of the plays (we read them together out loud)so it was interesting to see how many of the characters and actions of the plays we could recall. The game centers around producing Shakespeare's plays by collecting scripts for one or more of the 38 plays, moving around the board to find actors of various abilities, gathering props and financing, and putting on the plays at various London theatres, including the Globe. There is both skill, in answering the questions, and luck, in the draw of the cards. The instructions are very clear. The questions are multiple choice at three different skill levels, and there is an option for players with limited knowledge of Shakespeare to read (and perform) a speech from one of the plays and be rated by the others. Answering questions or performing gives you the money to buy the other items which you need to produce the play. You obtain your play by chance. Some are more valuable than others and require more resources to put on. The length of the game is set by agreement so it can be any length you want. All in all, I was very satisfied with this game and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in Shakespeare or a desire to learn more about his plays in a fun way.

Bill Downey's review.
Shakespeare is a great game. We have a group of four or five that meet weekly to play the game. It's the best part of the week; both educational and fun.

Love the Bard game
While a little complex to learn, the game is fun to play. It offers different strategies to score and its complexity ultimately keeps it interesting.

Fun for Shakespearians and Non-Shakespearians!
My boyfriend brought this for me as a Christmas present. We were both a bit skeptical that it would be fun...I love the bard but he knows next to nothing about Shakespeare. Well, they manage to even the playing field so Bardophiles aren't destined to win. He won the first game by a long shot. Get the game. It would be a great family game for people with teens!
