White Buttercream Frosting - 1lb - Pail

Great frosting

After many failed attempts over the years to make homemade buttercream icing, I decided to look for something pre-made, because I should not have to live without one of my favorite foods on the planet. Amazon has a pretty decent selection of them, so I finally decided on this one as my first to try. I’m not at all disappointed in my choice. It was pretty simple to add just butter and a little water to make it the right consistency for spreading, and it tasted wonderful. Don’t know if this one will be my favorite one since I only have tried 2 so far with the other one being horrible, but as of now, it’s a keeper.

0/10. It smells like a foot, tastes like a pencil eraser and leaves a thick layer of oil on the roof of your mouth. It also gets pools of oil if you leave it sitting at room temp for too long. I also don’t know why but I assumed a pound would be a lot more than it was so.. the price is horrible considering the quality and amount you get. It’s the size of the pre packaged frosting that you get at any grocery store. Your better off taking a trip to the store to pay $0.99 for the same amount of way better tasting frosting. Worst frosting experience of my life and almost $20 I will never get back. I would’ve spent less MAKING real butter cream.

We decorated a cake for a baby shower. It was easy to work with and manipulate. The mother to be loved it and loved the taste.

Quality was a four out of five. Definitely didn’t taste homemade or fresh. It came sealed. Was easy to die and very white when delivered.

Smells awful. Tastes awful. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because on only bought this to PRACTICE PIPING. I never had the intention of consuming it. I decorating a cake this weekend and wanted to practice some stuff and someone suggested getting a tub of cheap tea re made buttercream to use then toss it. This way I don’t waste yummy homemade frosting on practice. It’s a great idea. This is t that cheap as the tub is small but it will do. For piping is pretty nice although the smell was ridiculously awful, the texture was ok. It’s a bit hard at first, even being at room temperature. But as it warmed up as I held the piping bag it became easier. So I’m assuming if you are piping it in a warm room it may get too soft at on point. Honestly, in general I would NOT recommend this. It’s just not tasty. There are much better pre made options out there. But if you want to practice without feeling guilty this is def a good option.
