I don't know what I was expecting, but it was nothing as beautiful and magical as this book actually is. First of all, it's the most in depth and fascinating tarot book I've ever owned. I love that the author still encourages intuitive reading, despite the extensive amount of information given on each card. Secondly, it's a stunning collection of art. It's full of beautiful, full page, full colour images of each card and the story of how this deck was created, including early sketches and inspirations. It's all bound together in a huge hard backed book of absolutely top-notch quality. This book is without doubt the best tarot book you will ever purchase.

I received this book today and I can't put it down. I am a collector of Tarot decks but the Deviant Moon deck are my absolute favourite. The artwork is just stunning. To now have a book that goes with the deck is just perfect. Patrick Valenza is so talented and I love his artwork.

This is the best Guide Book for a tarot deck I have ever had the chance to purchase/read but it is so much more than that.The cover is so striking and I love the attention to detail even the feel of the book makes you know it was worth every penny. You can really tell that Patrick Valenza put his all into this book. It is truly one of a kind and it is fascinating to read all about the background behind the Deviant Moon Deck and to read about the creator Patrick Valenza. I highly recommend this to anyone who has the Deviant Moon deck and wants to learn more about it. You won't regret buying it!

This book is a work of art in itself. Although there are meanings for the cards it is so much more. Each card is fully presented along with information about the development and history of the deck. The artist lays bare his creative process while opening the door into the world of The Deviant Moon. Not only is this an amazing book about the Tarot it also makes a stunning coffee table book of beautiful artwork.

For anyone with the slightest interest in the Deviant Moon tarot this book is essential reading. All aspects of the production are first class and Patrick goes into great detail about the history of the cards and their development. The text is supported by just the kind of fabulous illustrations you could wish for and the end result is a large and comprehensive volume. Fans of this deck will probably know that the gestation period for this companion book has been quite some time so now it is finally here don't miss out. The cover is stunning and as soon as you lay eyes on it your expectations are high. It gives you the feeling you are in for a treat before you even turn to the first page.Enjoy

Having just put the book down I came here to review it, only to find most has been said before and there is little to add. But I will try.Just as the cards themselves have readily identifiable echoes of more familiar decks, so it is with the descriptions and interpretations. A feel for the old but with original and very intuitive new takes, which are a breath of fresh air.The deck, and the book, took a lifetime to mature, and it shows in the best of ways.An extraordinary tarot needs an extraordinary book to go with it, and that is exactly what this book is.

This is an amazing book - so much more than any other Tarot book I have seen. Each card comes alive with the story of the characters, and history of how he designed it. The large size does the illustrations justice and its amazing to see the sketches and inspiration as each one developed. For an artist, it's also a great guide on the thinking process and effort that goes into creating something like this. The advice offered and philosophy behind the cards is very rational, pragmatic and solid.

I thought this book was a bit much price wise when I ordered it yesterday. But fare enough as it's the next day delivery. But now it's actually been in my hands for 10 minutes. It more than worth the money. Fantastic art work & write up by the wonderful, creative Patrick Valenza. I will be gaining a collection just because of the book. The cards are amazing. I bought those months ago. But needed a guild with some of them. Glad I did this. What an inspiration.
