High quality toaster
The quality of this toaster is incredible, I can see why some people have had theirs for over 30 years. It’s got a professional kitchen quality about it. I also think that because it toasts quicker than my previous toaster, the toast has the perfect crunch on the outside but nice and soft in the middle. Thanks to Catering Parts UK for the quick delivery, I hadn’t heard of them before but after a bit of research I found that they were rated highly, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again.

On the bucket list.
Wanted one of these since I was a student nurse in the year 2000. I'm a sucker for well built items with replaceable parts. I think it looks great, thought the slots would be wider but apart from that I love it. Family is not so convinced, they don't like the faff of guessing the right time to set the timer.

could do with quieter timer and better cancel button
it took me 2 minutes on first use to pickup to dislikes, timer sound is annoying and to cancel midway you have to push the timer to zero, unlike most toaster at a fraction of a price that come with a simple button you press, forcing the timer to zero is surely not good for it in the long run, therefore the need to replace it as proudly claimed. simple improvements like a noise free timer and a cancel button would make this toaster justify its price point. i am in 2 minds to return it or give it a week or 2

Rolls Royce of toasters.
When only the best will do. I had one of these Duralit toasters years ago. Lasted years. Very reliable. Yes, they are expensive but shop about for value. I bought this one here on Amazon, slightly cheaper than elsewhere. Brilliant toaster. Very quick and easy to use and clean. Saves energy when toasting more than four slices as you need to reduce the timer allowing for the residual heat from first use.Overall 10/10.

Dualit - I so wanted to like this toaster...
...as I needed a replacement for a 10+ year old Magimix toaster that finally died. I really liked the look of the Dualit, and eagerly awaited its quick delivery. The first thing I noticed was that all the packing was eco friendly - paper product wrapper versus plastic - and cardboard packing spacers versus foam - well done. 😊I had noticed in a review that you could only select 1, 2 or 4 slots for heating - and it's because they've opted for a three position rotary switch instead of 4 - it would cost very little to put a 4-postion switch in - just seems to be an odd omission for something so costly. But still, in the grand scheme of things, a minor point.Next, I reviewed the manual (which is unusual) and noted that the timer should just be cancelled if you want to stop toasting early. I looked for a button to initiate the cancellation without luck, but then noticed later an instruction to just turn (force) the dial to off, and that it would not harm the mechanism. It may not harm it, but as a common spare part is the timer and it sounds like you're wringing the life out of it when you do try and stop it early - I just don't feel comfortable doing that as a regular practice. Again - not the most major of issues, but given the cost, surely there's something that could be improved here. The big issue for me was that I couldn't put in any bread save the smallest of standard breads. Anything that was a bit wider just didn't fit (unless I turned it sideways and then about 10-20% of the bread sat outside the toaster). I really don't want to spend the next 10+ years cutting my bread in half just to keep the toaster. This wasn't artisan loaves or home baked loaves - just what I would consider to be a fairly standard large loaf. The thickness of the slot was fine - and would easily accommodate bagels, sliced rolls or sandwiches in the supplied toasting cage. So, in the end, it was a combination of the the 1940's era timer and the slot that just wasn't long enough that led me to return this. My advice - measure your favourite breads carefully before deciding on this toaster.

Great Toasties
Had the two slice classic but chose this as a replacement. The toasted sandwiches in this toaster are so much better than using a sandwich maker.

Very quick service
We liked it because of its eco credentials as you can repair the toaster and don’t have to throw in a Landfill site. Also it takes different size pieces of toast as I make my own bread and it is chunky when cut than an average cut loaf.
