Look no further... Transportable, beautiful and cheap. Five stars!
I gave a try to the #3 size as I'm more interested in ultra light nymph fishing. The rod arrived in a week, nice packaging, no issues. Firstly the tube is a very quality one, 4 compartments, no sleeve, as it meant to be. The rod feels good... Usually I'm very fussy about every micro details, even in a low price range like this one, but the rod is spot on. Hard to find anything that reminds me to that cheap price I paid. The blank colour is beautiful (looks way better than the picture!), the hardware is good (the green graphite inlay is wicked!), the cork handle is nicely shaped with no grain holes (I've seen much worse cork on rods with triple price!). The action is rather a mid-fast, progressive action, I suppose the heavier size rods are ideal for long casts. Mine is just a little beauty for small rivers, chasing brook trout, grayling or perch. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase. If you are looking for a reliable and comfortable rod under £100-150, look no further... Transportable, beautiful and cheap. Five stars, there is no doubt! Also, let me add, the guys at Maxcatch were very kind to reply my emails and making sure the item arrived safely and I'm happy with it. Yes, I'm happy with it!

Lovely rod for smaller stillwaters.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â I really like this rod. I bought the 9 ft 4 weight version, which is slightly weightier than your average four-weight (it could probably load a 5-weight) and it loads the line very well. The action is more "western", not full-flex, although there is a fair amount of give when he line loads up for longer casts. What strikes me most is the quality of workmanship. It really is very well made - the reel seat is lovely, with quality fittings, the eyes and varnishing high quality very well and it comes with an expensive-looking canvas case too. I would say the rod competes very favourably with more expensive models, and will probably be my "go to" model for fishing the smaller lakes down here in Hampshire.I am confident it would handle even a large trout or bass very well, so looking forward to taming a few of the local lake lunkers!

EXCELLENT QUALITY ROD
Surprise, surprise! When buying a rod online with testing it is a chance but what a surprise when I unpacked it and put it together. A great rod carry bag accompanied the rod, but when I flexed the rod, wow! The rod is a medium flex with a superb action. I cannot wait to use it when my Maxcatch reel arrives and will most definitely be buying another one. An excellent product that is flawless.

Fish on first outing!
I purchased the 9" 7 weight option this week. First used today with a floating line as a partner to my Grey's 8" 6' 4/5 weight with a sink tip line and it performed very well on it's maiden outing, landing this very nice 2.5ib rainbow, the action was fantastic when playing the fish and i always felt in control. Very tricky conditions with high winds and the trout laying deep but this rod performed well. My only criticism is that it has a rather stiff action so you need to put a bit of effect into casting, however i think a thicker tapered leader would have solved this issue with the conditions. For the price you really can't go wrong, looks good and performs well. Couldn't ask for more from it.

Excellent value from Maxcatch
This is the 3rd rod I've bought in this range and I'm very impressed with them. The other 2 were lighter models and I bought this one for lure fishing for trout. Nice medium-fast action and gives plenty of feel during casting. Compares well to some more expensive rods I've owned. (Which to be fair would probably cope with a wider range of line size.) This casts a #8 (marked weight) nicely and I have used it - successfully- with a #7.Very nicely finished with quality touches such as section guide marks.

Not bad at the price
Not as good as my Greys which is the same length and weight but casts a line well and should do me a good few seasons.
