Perfect First Board Game for Young Kids - Fun, Simple and Full of Laughter!
This is a fun family game that's very simple to play. NO READING required! My 4yr old son enjoys it a lot. It's his first real board game, and he loves spinning the spinner, counting his moves, singing, acting out, and guessing the tasks on the "present" cards. It's really fun-filled and brings lots of laughter! Each round lasts about 10-15 minutes, and he wants to play at least four times in a row! I've noticed that it helps kids learn to wait patiently for their turn and stay focused on one activity. My almost 3yr old tries to join in with a little help, though he’s not as interested as my older child. The cupcake pieces are adorable, though the character pawn keeps falling over, a slightly stronger or larger plastic clip would have helped. The board is good quality, but the folding area could tear if not handled carefully (a bit of tape might help it last longer). Overall, kids around 5yrs will love this game!

Family fun
This game is perfect for my 4 year old grandsons. They love Pete the Cat and really enjoyed the game. Directions were easy to follow and the parts are quality.

My daughters favorite game
I tried getting my daughter Candyland, but it was too simple and she got bored very fast. We gave this game a shot and she LOVES it. She asks to play it at least 3 times a day now. It's so simple that she is able to set it up herself and teach everyone the rules. But it has enough variety that she stays entertained. She likes that it's interactive, and we really encourage her to come up with new answers each time we play. My only gripe is that the board is unnecessarily big, haha. It takes up so much of the table and she has to stand on the chair to move her piece around the board. Aside from that though, it's a fun game that encourages kids to think hard and fits right in with us teaching our daughter to read right now since it does have a space for letters.

3 year old LOVES this game, Nana impressed with product.
I purchased this game for my 3 year old granddaughter. It was for the most part her first real game. I wasn’t sure that she would be able to play the “game” but she loves Pete the Cat and she loves the cupcake book. The game is easy to assemble and put away and I am impressed with the quality (although I worry about the spinner’s life). Playing the game is fun, noncompetitive (every player works toward a common goal) and lasts about 20 minutes with 4 players, but easily modified to end when needed. My granddaughter knows her numbers and can mostly count her own piece movement (although she has been known to “miscount” if she is landing on the return a cupcake space! I love that the game is also interactive. Some of the spaces you have to act something, some name something, and some with sounds. I think almost any 3-5 year old would love this game, especially Pete the Cat lovers!

Nobody wins?
This game is sturdy and well made for littles who might not be so gentle. The elements are very bright and fun for the kiddos, but I'm on the fence. My 4yo really loves this game, but I'm afraid it teaches kids the whole participation trophy thing. Nobody wins or loses and there really isn't any element of competition. I understand that for very small kids, I think the age range for this is probably 3, maybe 4 and under. That said, the activities are super fun. It is pretty darn cute to watch the kids act out the charades.

Unique fun Game
This game is far from boring- it has the kids singing, acting, counting the spaces as they move their pieces around the board. But what I love most is although each child has their own piece that they move around the board, they actually work together to get all the cupcakes on Pete the Cats Birthday table, so all can sing and wish Pete a Happy Birthday. I played with grandkids ages 2-5, helping the 2 year old most of the time; and when he wandered away (short attention span at times for a 2 year old as expected) it didn't disrupt the game at all, and he joined back in, again not disruptive. Very cute game & recommend.

Good gift for 4 or 5 year old
Family fun for 4 to 5 year old. It would be a good birthday party gift. Cooperative family gameplay. Nice alternative to CandyLand.

Great fun for a couple nights with our 3 year old.
Great fun for a couple nights with our 3 year old. So I am a table top and board gaming geek. This has probably been the best board game my 3 year old daughter is able to play so far. I am looking forward to the days were she can play games like Zombicide, Dominion, Settlers, etc. Even the big box store stuff like Life, Clue, Monoploy, and Chess. However the first night with this game we got together as a family played and had shared a lot of laughs. That night was totally worth the price. On the downside. The cardboard game player pieces tend to fall out of the stands quickly. I am looking to 3d print something else to stick in the game box. Also we got through all the 20 birthday present cards the first night, which really lowers the replay value for the adult family members. The game is just fun enough I could see myself created one hundred or two present cards to go with this game. If your a board gamer and want to inspire game night(s) early on with your child I highly suggest this game. Even if you only play it twice if cost less then going to the movies or out to eat in a non-Covid world.

An entertaining game with lots of variety
I really liked this game for my 4 year old and I. No reading is required to play, and the spaces on the game board give lots of variety - singing, choosing a letter and saying a word that starts with that letter, charades, animal sounds. Every turn is different. It's nice to work cooperatively. The game is well-made. Recommended!
