Segway miniPLUS Smart Self-Balancing Electric Transporter, White

The Mini Plus by Segway has thus far exceeded my expectations in every way. This personal transportation device is powerful yet docile when circumstances demand slow and careful travel. The orientation process was quick and easy. The transporter is constructed of high quality materials with fit and finish consistent with the Segway brand.On a recent five mile ride I purposely undertook a journey through a hilly subdivision that features well-maintained pedestrian and bicycle paths. The mini Plus climbed grades approaching ten percent, without a significant loss of speed or battery power and I weigh 197 pounds.The security officer approved of the use of the transporter in the subdivision and every resident I encountered heartily approved of the futuristic looks and performance of the Segway.I found traveling downhill necessitated more balancing concentration than traveling uphill. Also, off-camber turns can be a bit of a challenge at speed, but there is no substitute for common sense and prudence while operating a vehicle of any kind (with a helmet, I might add).I’m stoked! With the suite of electronic capabilities loaded in each mini Plus you will find interesting and useful functionalities that enhance the ownership experience.

I really don’t know what some of the hate is about for the taller riders. I’m 6 foot 4inchs and am able to operate it perfectly. I am able to perform tight turns, accelerat and decelerat flawlessly. My wife is 4 foot 11 I nch’s and ride the Mini Plus without discomfort or Hesitation ; likewise same can be said about me and I’m nearly 2 feet taller than her. If you comparing this to the Segway MiniPro. I would take this unit (MiniPlus) over the Pro anytime. The Mini Plus has double the range , and slight boost in speed, much smoother ride, slightly wider foot platforms, and the headlight is immensely bright. The wheel lights look slick and look like they belong. Overall. 5⭐️Rider tips:Step onto the foot pads not into. Doing so may result in the unit going forward when mounting it.Let the Mini Plus correct you, DO NOT TRY TO CORRECT IT! Naturally, the unit wants to stay upright and so do you, if you fight it, it will be difficult to find your balance.Use the knee bar to steer, not your feet.

The main reason this gets 2 stars is because there is no way to extend the steering column height (the same reason most people don't like the miniLite). Our family has 3 miniPros that we like much better. We could honestly not find any feature on the miniPlus that made it worth the expense. We returned it and bought a 4th miniPro. On a side note, the remote was fun to play with and it does look great.

Excellent customer support. I couldn't get my phone to connect to it, which is why the four stars, though it may have just been my phone because a friends phone could connect OK. It works now if I use his username and password.Segway (Gene Northam) got back to me 6 minutes after I emailed him, and kept up a discussion over four messages.I did fall off, which wouldn't have happened on a full size Segway. The mini is not hard to ride, I was just stupid and hit a curb.

Honestly, I love this thing but I’m hoping the 1 star gets some attention. The overspeed alarm is LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, AND EMBARASSING. I feel like people think I’m trying to “show off” when I’m passing and I starting beeping loudly. Why let me go overspeed just to immediately throttle me back? Please, for the love of God, update the firmware. I should be able to lean all the way forward and not go overspeed just to be throttled back with that loud beep. I will update this to FIVE stars once that happens. This really is a great product otherwise... in the first 24 hours.

Love the Segway Mini PUS. it does go much farther than my previous one. My only concern is I've had it less than a month and the tire went flat out of no where. I was told there os a year warranty on my device but am not finding how to get a replacement or how to get it fixed. I will change my review when this has been fixed..

MOT A HOVERBOARD‼️SEGWAY is quicker! (lights,traffic,parking,walking the store), etc.I use italmost every day‼️❗️DON’t COMPAR IT TO A HOVERBOARD❗️As different as a unicycle and an automobile!!! I take mine everywhere‼️ Grocery shopping, dog walking, zipping around the house, just because it’s that much fun. ...and spending half of my time telling everyone that stops you, amazed at how smooth and capable it is, about it. (a hover board has a hard time going over the little cracks on a sidewalk, My SEGWAY can roll-off of a curb, never stopping, and always feel completely under control!!! IT’’s absolutely predictable and reliable. If I have to go 3 miles or less from my home I take the SEGWAY. It’s easier, a hell of a lot more fun ...and quicker❗️ (Getting in the car, stop lights, traffic, one-way streets, parking, walking from parking spot to store as well as walking throughout the stoor. (Just don’t go fade-in the stoor and they will come to know you personally.) ...KEEP IN MIND, THATS JUST ONE WAY IN YOUR CAR!!! That’s why around 3 miles, it’s much more convenient and faster to take the Segway ‼️ It takes about five minutes to master riding it. I have thought more people to ride it then I could ever count (... just strangers, so enamored by it. ... after a ride you couldn’t wipe the smile off their face if you tried !!! I would say one out of 20 people are not successful in using it comfortably. The only reason they have any issue riding it, is because they’ve already convinced themselves that it’s not possible. They’ll put 1 foot up, then take it off, and not try again.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 ‼️‼️ it’s also the only of its kind that is registered, legally, as a mobility device, ... so if you are, they think you are, or for any reason Except that you have any disability bad knees feet back neck you can take it anywhere you can take a wheelchair‼️ No harm done if you are disabled and or respectful. I couldn’t possibly cover as much ground as I do with the Segway if I had to walk because my back is so messed up.
