5-Star Review: Bissell ProHeat Pet Carpet Cleaner – A Dachshund Parent’s Lifesaver
As a proud (and slightly exhausted) dog mom to two mischievous dachshund puppies, I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun to deal with their endless “accidents” on my carpet. Let me paint the picture: I brought home my two adorable little troublemakers thinking I was ready for anything. I had the potty pads, the stain sprays, the vinegar and baking soda, the enzymatic cleaners—you name it, I tried it. But somehow, every single time I thought we were making progress, I’d find a fresh puddle of pee soaking into the carpet fibers. I was getting desperate. Not only was the smell lingering (despite all my attempts), but I was also worried about the long-term damage to my carpet and subfloor. That's when I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Bissell ProHeat Pet Carpet Cleaner. And let me tell you—this machine is worth every single penny. Set-Up & First Impressions: Out of the box, the Bissell ProHeat was straightforward to assemble. The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in no time. It felt solid and well-made, and I could already tell it was designed with pet owners in mind. It comes with a Pet Stain Tool, a tough stain tool, and a trial-size bottle of Bissell’s professional cleaning formula. Performance: The first time I used it, I targeted the worst area—my bedroom, which had essentially become their unofficial bathroom. I followed the instructions, filled the clean water tank, added the cleaning solution, and slowly began cleaning in sections. I was SHOCKED by the amount of dirt and urine this machine pulled out. You think your carpet is clean until you dump the dirty water tank and realize you’ve basically been living on a swamp of pee and regrets. I even got this done in 10 minutes. The ProHeat’s Heatwave Technology keeps the water warm throughout the cleaning process, and the suction is incredibly powerful. After just one pass, the odor in the room was significantly better. I did two full passes over the main areas, and not only did the smell disappear, but the carpet looked newer and fluffier. You could visibly see the difference in texture and color. Stain Removal: As for the older stains I had almost given up on? They’re gone. Completely. No halo effect, no faint yellow ring—just clean, fresh carpet. I also used the handheld tool on a few spots on the stairs and it worked beautifully. It got right into the corners and edges without any trouble. Dry Time: I was impressed with how quickly the carpet dried. I kept the windows open and ran a fan, and the area was fully dry within a few hours. Much faster than I expected, considering how saturated it had been during cleaning. Maintenance: Cleaning the machine afterward is easy. The tanks lift right out, and everything comes apart smoothly for rinsing. The brush roll cover even comes off so you can remove hair and debris (a big plus with shedding pups). Verdict: If you’re a pet owner—especially of stubborn puppies who think the world is their toilet—do yourself a favor and invest in the Bissell ProHeat Pet Carpet Cleaner. I honestly wish I had bought it sooner. It has saved my carpets, my sanity, and possibly even my relationship with my dogs. This isn’t just a spot cleaner—it’s a deep-cleaning powerhouse. It’s the kind of tool you don’t realize you need until you finally use it and wonder how you ever lived without it. Now, anytime there’s an accident, I know it’s no big deal—I can just pull out the Bissell and tackle it right away.

Wow, wow, wow! It cleans deeper and better than expected!
Wow, wow, wow. I have two dogs, and have fostered a few dozen dogs over the past 5 years. Plus nieces and nephews in and out, normal life, etc. And I ended up with some very dirty carpets and rugs. I was going to rent a machine from Lowes, but it was about $50 per day here, and with the amount of carpet and rugs I needed to clean, and my own physical limitations due to injury, I knew I would need at least 2 days to get everything done. So at that point, I figured why not just get a deep cleaner for myself. A lot of people recommended the large, more professional Bissell (the big green) but that felt too expensive for me to use for myself (and maybe let family borrow) so I went with this more mid-tier Bissell ProHeat. And wow. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was not this level of deep cleaning from a machine that looks like a vaccuum. It's stunning. I knew my rugs were dirty, but I vaccuum regularly and didn't realize just how truly dirty they were till I started the deep clean. The picture speaks for itself! This was after two passes, on the deepest clean mode and with the Pet formula and hot water. The machine itself was easy to put together, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I was deep cleaning within 20 minutes. I couldn't replace the installed carpet, but had seriously been considering replacing the rugs. Which would have cost more overall than buying this Bissell Proheat. Overall, I am thrilled and obsessed. I will be cleaning everything in sight, from the carpets to upholestry on the chairs and couches. I don't have a garage, so storage will be a little tricky. But it's roughly the size of a large vaccuum, so it's not any different than that. The weight is a little heavy, especially when carrying upstairs. Just move the unit first, and add the water/solution afterwards. It's only been a few hours of use, but there has been no leakage or issues so far. Just bright, clean carpets!

Great Product
Highly recommend this rug cleaner. It gets ALL the mess up from the rug and leaves the house smelling clean again. It is durable, light weight and easy to use. My last Bissell cleaner last 10 very hard use years until it finally gave up. Highly recommend this product. You won't be disappointed.

70 year old clean freak with big dogs
I've had a lot of shampooers over the years, and always had big dogs. Also a former bodybuilder. This shampooer is pretty bulky. Pros and Cons: Pros- -It does a pretty good job, but I used my own spot treatment. -Has a spot shot for spots -Suction is really good! -It disassembles easily for cleaning. -Comes with an invaluable cleaning tool! Don't lose it! -Great price on Prime Days deal! Cons: -Its awkward to use. In all fairness this was my first time using it though. -You have to fill the water tank with HOT water, but it does keep the water hot when using. -Does not do a good job on high traffic areas, even when pre treated. -Don't try to lift it when water tank is full! Very heavy -Does not have a rinse cycle. -Instead of having a dedicated cleaning solution reservoir, you have to add it to the water tank. -Its very awkward to target the spot shot to hit the spot you're aiming for. DO NOT TRY TO VACCUME THIN RUGS. It will suck it up! Tips: clean as directed after each use, or watch a video on it. Remove both clean and dirty tanks before lifting. Watch videos on YT, they really help! Vaccume REALLY well before shampooing. All in all it was a good purchase for us.

Amazing cleaning job and ease of servicing.
I had a top of the line carpet cleaner I have had for several years. I did my carpets on Monday. The brushes quit working. I took everything apart and could not working so I bought this unit. There was a high traffic area in the carpet I have not been able to get clean. This unit got it clean. I went back over the carpet where I had already cleaned and the solution was almost black. This cleaner is amazing. Very easy to disassemble to clean as well.

SINFUL water dump… be warned you may never want carpet again.
Idk why but Amazon won’t let me upload videos or photos, LAME Anyhow this carpet cleaner has more than likely just scrubbed sins out of my carpet. When I say I have never and I mean NEVER seen water pull up brown out of the carpet while cleaning this scrubber makes it the first. I live in military housing so who knows what these floor have seen or worse what they haven’t (a carpet cleaner for sure) I have two dogs and this thing pulls up a heck of a lot of hair too. Love Bissell and what they stand for. Storage wise this thing is a behemoth, I got an 2 in one to save space and while it does don’t expect it so be and small and a vacuum. It’s a little heavy but I don’t expect a little green machine. Definitely saved money because it’s got all the attachments of a spot cleaner and works just as well. In all this already overworked scrubber is definitely worth the investment ESPECIALLY if you’ve got dogs or have no idea what your floors have seen.

Amazing for a home carpet shampooer!
I have to be very impressed or disappointed to write reviews. I researched and read tons of reviews before finally purchasing. After years of buying the cheaper machines that were rated decently, just to be disappointed in the long run. Definitely spend the extra $$ for this one! Glad I didn’t listen to the few negative reviews I saw. The suction is great, it glides under furniture so I can get under more than I’ve ever been able to with others, it leaves the carpet pretty dry and I can actually tell when looking if the water is still coming up. Good size tank for an upright cleaner and was easy to assemble. My carpets are the cleanest they have been since I moved in and we have pets who like to mark! Seems very easy to keep clean and maintain.

Great value for the money!
Got it today, used it today. Easy assembly. Good picture instructions. Seems to be a quality unit. Be sure and lift by the lift handle. Seems silly but the operation handle is lighter duty and the unit is slightly heavy. Rolls great though. Does have to be empty quite often but does a great job. Do recommend spraying bad stains for pretreatment. Extracts water from carpet very well. Be sure to clean after use to maintain the unit, debris will set up like concrete. Good value for the money. Would give five stars but don't know how long it will give good performance.
