Whedon Designer Saver Shower high velocity shower head in chrome

This chrome finished solid brass shower head is well made, all the edges are smooth and there are no rough spots or blemishes in the chrome plating. It has a thick gasket where it attaches to the shower supply pipe and only required hand tightening to get it tight and leak free. Once installed, the shower head stays wherever to aim it and yet moves easily when you wish to adjust it, a convenience when your not the only one using it. Now for how it works and feels, wonderful - would be an accurate way to describe it's performance. This shower head is designed to use far less water than conventional shower heads, about 2.2 gallons per minute. Unfortunately, my experience with shower heads sold at Home Depot or Lowes making similar water saving claims was disappointing even when I paid several times the price, so I was hesitant to buy this one. I have to say that it really delivers a strong satisfying spray that is well focused yet broad enough to rinse your entire body. It's difficult to believe that this thing actually saves water because it feels so strong and still gives a better spray than the head it replaced which costs four times as much and used a lot more water. Even if you don't care about water usage, using less allows longer showers before running out of hot water. It comes with two spray discs that you can place into the head depending upon your water pressure with the "normal" one already installed. The ability to remove and clean the discs by merely unscrewing the head is a great feature especially if you have hard water that might eventually clog the small holes that allow the water through. I would not ordinarily write such an enthusiastic review for something as mundane as a shower head but this one really delivers for a very reasonable price AND it's actually made here in the USA - wow! I heartily encourage you to give it a try.

I didn't buy these because I have low water pressure, I just bought them because years ago I stayed at a rental place that had one and I fell in love. I put one of these in every shower in my house. Everyone that has tried it, has loved it. My brother called it a "prison shower head" but admitted that he liked it.

It may not be the best shower head made, but it is the best I have been able to locate in the last 40 years or so. I have low water pressure about 35 to 40 pounds on a municipal water system the low pressure disk was a very good addition.

According to Amazon, this is the same shower head I purchase a few years ago...it has the same name made by the same company but it is NOT the same shower head. The older model was larger (longer) and has a much narrower, more powerful spray than this new one, which shoots more of a wide mist than a strong spray. Disappointed.

Bought house new 20 yrs ago. Shower was pathetically limp. Just not enough water was coming out of the pipe. I had pretty much resigned myself to the probability of that never being different without tearing out the plumbing and doing it right myself. I figured it was probably some government mandated conservation crap installed into the valve structure. But then I tried this and wow! Perfect showers ever since! It's due primarily to the "Venturi" effect whereby low pressure water is funneled into a narrow tunnel which increases velocity, mixes the water with air, and the resultant fine spray droplets pelt you at high speed making it feel like you're being blasted with massive amounts of water spray. Fantastic and cheap!

This rating is not for the head. Whedon shower heads are great. It is for the seller, who shipped a different head than in the description/picture. I returned it for a replacement, and the replacement was the same wrong item

I've had this shower head in both my showers for years. It's a very sturdy all metal construction and should last for decades. I've had those plastic junk shower heads in the past and they don't last very long with the hard water we have in our area. The hard water does not clog up this all metal shower head at all. The water spray is how I like it and you don't have to adjust it.
