New spin on old classic
Bought for my young lad (and secretly for myself) the track is decent with plenty of action parts. And the new phone/ ipad aspect is great as adds some variety but importantly let's you limit the speed for younger players. The app is fiddly to get working. You need to down load it, then make sure your Bluetooth and location services are accessible by the app. Then shut down the app before turning the sparkplug adapter on and then connecting to it via Bluetooth. Get the order wrong and it won't connect. Now I've figured the order out it connects everytime. The good points are value, novel way of racing, look of the cars and plenty of excitement with the features of the track. The downside is getting the app to work and the jump set up can be fiddly.Over all great fun and pleased with it.

Grandsons Treat
Bought as Christmas present for 9 year old grandson, as with all Scalextric good quality product, although could have done with some rails where the bends are to stop the cars coming off regularly. The bluetooth can be a bit temperamental but overall works fine, he was especially pleased with the jump that`s included where the cars do actually land back on the track after the jump. Would recommend.

No wired hand controls
It was not made clear in the advert that wired hand controls were not included OR that they could be purchased unlike other sellers who RECOMEND and give which type of wired controls can be used. After all who can give 2 6 year olds 2 phones to play on a scalextric.

Bought this for my 7 year old son's birthday - defo worth upgrading from the smaller cars and fast enough to keep the little ones excited. Car did stop working after a few days so i need to look into that, but still worth the money

READ THIS !!!!!!!!
It's hard to know where to start.....I'm old enough to be familiar with the original scalextric made by hornby in the uk and all its foibles with the track.....bad connections and constant cleaning of track ect but this new track is a whole new can of worms....Firstly and really I need go no further than explain it's now made in China..... and....They have changed the design. No longer are there round connectors that hold the track securely together but push in clips that leave a little play between sections. In addition they have added separate metal pins rather than the original continuous ones. If I say these pins are loose and do not make good connections and then multiply it by the number of sections of your track hopefully you can see where I'm going with it.Added to that when you have made up your track you will probably like us discover it does not quite fit.....It's like a 90 degree curve is only 89.75 degrees and gaps in the appalling connectors keep opening up the bigger the track you go. I can't prove this but if you do buy one you will remember this .And finally if you do buy this electronic blu tooth connected wireless pile of parts you will discover a whole new dimension to frustration which I pray to my god you do not experience on a special day.You really have been warned.....think I'm just venting off and jaded well go ahead it will make your day. It's so sad that a child's traditional institution is now what it is and at a price you think it must be good quality.RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!.
