Great for extending / isolating a USB port via fiber for Amateur Radio
So I'm using this for only one thing. Placing fiber between my RF noisy USB ports on desktop PC over to my Icom 7610 and 9700. Having a USB port connected directly added some noise that I just couldn't eliminate. Also on some bands, I would get some RF in the shack that would drop the USB connection. This takes care of it! The only thing you have to watch out for is the the AC power adapter is full of noise. Luckily for us radio operators, both sides are 12volts DC.

High defect rate
Got two duds in a row. Neither transmitter shows "video in ok" LED, neither set works.

Handy to have
I am trying to run hdmi over fiber for portable video setups and I think this cable will work well. Only time will tell, but it sure cuts down on the lag on longer runs.

Works ok, have to use simplex fiber with LC connection.
The media could not be loaded. The setup was fairly simple to me, the directions appeared decent though did not really need them to get this working. The directions give some info on the lights on the units and issues though. Appears to have a light for power, fiber signal, and HDMI. These units seem well built and have mounting flanges they run off separate included wall packs for power. While these work with no noticeable issues there are some wishes for these things for future models.Power the unit off HDMI if possible. Allow use of standard SFPs and or duplex fiber as duplex patch cables are often more prevalent than simplex ones. For some reason when the units face the same way, the markings are backward on one, either printed wrong or the cover put on the wrong, minor issue but is kind of a noticeable detail.

Does Not work
So I received this as a gift and my intention was to use it to extend my video source from my capture device on my PC. Everything worked fine with the HDMI plugged into the capture device directly when placing the extender in the loop I get no video. Cheaper isn't always better.
