Lego 10199 Winter Toy Shop

This is just the cutest winter scene, very Christmassy and (even though this Lego is fairly easy to assemble within a day) it brought loads of fun and excitement to the family. Will make an ideal Christmas present and also could be used pre-Christmas to get children into Christmas spirit (as if they need any help!). This scene from a winter village features a toy-maker's shop (filled with loads of precious little details!) with a light-up window. There are seven Lego people and a huge light-up Christmas tree (which was hard to assemble - adult supervision and help will be required). In my personal opinion, even though it states that the set is for children aged 12+, this is absolutely suitable for kids aged 7 and older (I am not sure a 13 year old boy would appreciate it as much as a younger child). Already retired from the Lego official website, you can get it here on amazon (if you are ready to overspend by a big margin).

I have bought this set for my 7 yr old daughter. She took quite a few hours over 3 days to build it together with her 4 yr old brother. The result is great, with quite sizable Christmas tree (6 inches tall and 4,5 inches wide) and a big house (7x3x6in.). There are many charming details, lots of little toys (inc. a train, a robot, a skateboard, teddy & jack-in-the-box)and boxed gifts to put around Christmas tree or on the shelves of the toy shop, a lights chain to wrap around the tree, plenty of mini-figures, a snowman and a beautiful bench with a festive detail street lamp. The roof panels are attached by a single brick only, which means they might be a bit flimsy. I love the size of the whole set, I expected it to be smaller as it is usually the case with Lego toys. It complements nicely the Lego City Advent Calendar, which Santa brought for my son;) Some new bricks are an extra bonus to our growing collection of Lego.

I normally don't like being too blunt, but I think this set has a reason to be as it represents poor value for money. The RRP has, for its shelf life, remained at £45 and the content simply doesn't justify spending this money. This is a pity, for the models themselves are wonderful (if fragile in many aspects), but as usual with many LEGO products, the overly large box and deceiving image give the impression that their is more to build when the reality is that the centre piece is just a small wooden shop with several smaller builds. This is also a 'shelf' piece in my view, as the models are just too delicate to let kids play with. On a positive note, there are several excellent unique bricks and you're also getting a fair amount of great minifigures.

I have bought lots of lego and built lots of lego This lego has parts missing snd is a terrible build l am not enjoying this build l would not recommend this lego to anyone l put one star only because it would not let me send it also l have never had lego break look at the photo l have just found out by lego that this is a retired product from the official lego site its a bit of a different build l would if returned this product but l had to empty everything out as the bags were not numbered like lego so l dont have any bags

Looking at this product I have just bought Lego 10249 which looks to be the same product but with more toys and in fact a few more pieces - it is also a MUCH cheaper price at around £65!!

J'ai acheté cette boite Lego pour mon Papa, pour sa déco de Noël! Le rendu est vraiment sympa. La construction est très "spéciale" très recherchée. Le bâtiment est très bien fait et on reconnaît l'ambiance de noël avec le sapin géant en extérieur et le toit enneigé! J'attends avec impatience que la boite sortie cette année par Lego "la boulangerie du village" du même thème soit proposée sur le site d'amazon!!! Vraiment mon coeur de cette fin d'année! Je recommande!
