a fantastic selection of pop songs from the 1980's
This is a great collection of 80 tracks from the 1980's. It's a set of 4 CD's and presents an excellent selection of different styles and tastes of pop music from that decade, including lots of well-known artists. If you're a fan of '80's songs then I'm sure you'll find plenty to enjoy here. In addition to the discs, you can download the tracks via 'autorip' (on MP3) at no extra cost - which means you can listen to the songs on your tablet or phone. At £8 - as I review - this is a reasonably priced item, and I highly recommend it.

The search for the ultimate 80s CD continues
As with most compilation CDs this has 1 really good disc, 1 good disc, 1 mediocre disc and 1 terrible disc. There are some obvious classic 80s artists missing too; no Shakin' Stevens, Adam Ant, Dexys Midnight Runners, Bananarama, Paul Hardcastle, Nick Kershaw, Tightfit, Kim Wilde, Kajagoogoo, Heaven 17 or Jimmy Sommerville/Communards to name a few.Disc 2 and 4 were the weakest - in fact the 4th disc was awful. There were songs I would have removed from disc 2 and replaced with the only decent 4 tracks from disc 4 and I would have included songs from the missing artists above which would have removed the drivel from the dire disc 4.Discs 1 and 3 were the strongest in my opinion, but disc 3 still had a couple of tracks only worth skipping. The other thing is that some of the tunes picked I don't feel showcased some of the artists, Erasure, Spandau Ballet and Rick Astley have done better songs than the ones that appear on this CD.I still live in hope that one day a decent 80's album will hit the market - hell maybe I should produce it....
