Great results even at the lowest temperature
Many people have said these are better than GHDs, I personally have never owned a pair but I can say these straighteners produce results as, or even more, outstanding than GHDs. My previous pair of straighteners were by Amika (often present at stalls in shopping centres) and although I have been using those for many years now, these are a vast improvement. For example, heat up time is really as quick as it says it is (15 seconds on the lowest temperature) and it produced better results in a quicker time at 160 degrees than my Amikas at 200 degrees. Less time consuming and saves on the heat damage! I have, in my opinion, quite thick and frizzy hair and therefore wanted a straightener known for its great performance so started looking for GHDs. But after seeing the huge difference in price and little difference in features and reviews, I bought these and have not looked back since. A mistake I made was to start off straightening at the highest temperature as I assumed that would give the best results but despite the perfect results anyway, it left a horrible burnt smell in my hair for around a week which was more noticeable when washing. So gradually I went down to 160 degrees and have not had to use a higher temperature since or straighten a single section of hair more than once. Because of the flexible plates you can also curl /wave hair really well. It leaves static-free hair, no pulling and has a helpful 'bleep' when its ready to be used. Leaves a really nice soft finish to the hair without feeling like its done too much damage.Buttons are ok; it takes longer than usual to select the temperature you want because it automatically goes into the moisture sense mode when switched on and then you have to lock it into the desired temperature so there is no real simple 'on/off' feature to it. However, definitely worth the hassle for the price and results and only bothers lazy people like me! These buttons however also allow for more control over how its straightening hair, so its still useful. The pouch that it comes with is a nice way to store it and I often use it as a heat proof mat. Would definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a high quality straightener but don't want to pay for the letters GHD written on them!

Damaged my hair 😡
My pair of GHDs stopped working suddenly after 4 years so needed to get a new pair of straighteners quickly. I had borrowed a great pair of Remington straighteners from my cousin for a few days, and I was so impressed I thought I'd try a pair for myself. Why pay so much if a cheaper pair would do the job?? My hair is naturally curly, but I straighten my hair most days and use a really good heat protection spray that works really well on my hair. These straighteners are very sleek and look really stylish. However after using these straighteners for a fortnight it was clear that it was damaging my hair. I used the same heat protection spray I always use and my hair was breaking and becoming increasingly damaged with every use. My hair dresser even commented on how damaged my hair had become. I had to continue to use them for a while as I couldn't afford to shell out on another pair of straighteners so quickly. I ended up spending extra for a new pair of GHDs. I wish I had just done so in the first place. Please don't waste your money and damage your hair with these things.

Good as a set of GHD's at half the price....bargain!
Was originally looking for a set of Remington Pearl straightners, after reading a superb review in Good Housekeeping magazine. Found a set on Amazon but offer linked to this newer version, so took a look. These were also on sale and offered brilliant value for money and came with a very high spec and a long 5 year guarantee, which really sealed the deal for me. All three of my daughters use GHD's and have had various degrees of success over the years. None of their sets have lasted anywhere near 5 years. These straightners are light and easy to use. Narrow blades give good access to hair near the scalp and a smooth action through hair lengths. I have very thick curly/wavy hair which is cut in a graduated bob and i use my straighteners every day to keep the shape smooth. As with other reviews i also noticed a plasticy smell when they first heated up but it's not so bad that i would say it affects my review of this product. I haven't noticed an increase in shine over the weeks i've been using them, as per the claim referring to Keratin deposits from the blades, but neither have i experienced a deterioration in my hair's condition. i love the fact that you can select a temperature to suit your hair's condition etc which i don't think you can with my daughters GHD's. Also there is a moisture sensor which apparently adjusts to moisture levels inside the hair shaft. Unfortunatly there was no instruction leaflet with these straightners but it's pretty straightforward. Can't think of a single downside so far.....price, heat control and features, auto cut-off and 5 year guarantee plus a heat proof mat, all for a lot less than GHD's, what's not to like!!! Plus they straighten just as well as all the leading brands i've ever tried...I'm thrilled to bits. What a bargain!

Found the perfect straighteners
I bought these after checking out many a review of different straighteners, my current GHD's were starting to go wrong, well they were 10 years old! So I thought I would get a new set. They arrived in the morning and I opened straight away to check them out. Firstly the packaging is good and there is a small pouch for putting them, great for when going away and need to put them in a case or bag. After firing them up onto the hottest setting (I have long, thick hair) I took a section of my hair and wow, poker straight and smooth. They glide much easier than GHD's which means they work quicker as you don't have to keep going over the hair. My hair was completely straight after about 5 mins and felt in really good condition. I was ready to go, OK I only needed to nip to the local shops, but it was a fairly damp day, not raining but moisture in the air - this is when my hair normally goes horribly frizzy. When I got back home and checked in the mirror, my hair was still perfectly straight, no frizz at all. I am super impressed with these straighteners and the fact they are considerably cheaper and in my opinion considerably better than GHD's or Cloud 9's I would highly recommend. They also come with a 5 year guarantee which is always a bonus. Buy them, they're very, very good!

Good Straighteners
Product arrived quickly. The straighteners came with a heat protecting case which is really cute! Its a cream, quilted design that buttons to close and it looks a bit like a clutch (just longer). There is a velcro attachment inside to keep the straighteners secure when moving them around. The straighteners themselves look really sleek and are lightweight which makes them easier to use. The straighteners have a swivel cord which stops the wire from getting tangled. There is also a little slide-button just above the swivel cord that you can use to lock the straighteners shut. Hold the straighteners closes (like you would when you glide the straightener down your hair) and slide the button to the closed padlock sign. Word of warning, if your button is as stiff as mine then you need to put some force into it! The power buttons, +/- and the button for the moisture detection are all alongside the top plate on the left hand side. I don't like the placement of these buttons as I find its easy to accidentally press a button and change the settings or turn it off by accident (I have long hair so I hold the straighteners down for a while and often bypass the feature to lock the heat setting. The straighteners come with an integrated digital display on the top plate. This is shown as a sticker on the outside of the top plate which lights up at each stage. The straighteners have a temperature range of 160-230 degrees which increase/decrease in increments of 20. This is slightly annoying because you cannot for example set the straighteners to 190 degrees which may be the ideal temperature for you. The straighteners do heat up fairly quickly. The description above states they heat up in 15 seconds which I'm inclined to believe - although I've never timed it. A word of warning, be careful how far up you hold the straighteners as they do get very hot. I wouldn't use these straighteners to curl my hair because the outside gets too hot to hold (It gets too hot for me to hold where the temperature numbers are!) The straighteners boast a new feature which is meant to detect moisture levels in the hair and adjust the temperature accordingly (this feature can be turned off via the buttons). The straighteners have enhance ceramic coated plates with Keratin Micro Conditioners. This feature is supposed to help control frizz to give a smoother finish to the hair. I think this is a good feature and my frizz was reduced but my hair had a lot off static whenever I use this straightener. Also the top plate has two metal strips which can pull your hair so be careful and make sure to brush ALL knots out before using. These straighteners also have longer plates. Personally, I think after trying long and wide plates, I prefer having wider plates to longer ones. As a result, this feature was a bust for me! Also the straighteners have a rounded edge (there's a considerable gap between the top of the straightener and the plates) so its difficult to get to the baby hairs without burning yourself. Overall, I love the packaging and the design of these straighteners. I love that they're lightweight so my wrists don't hurt when I straighten them. They give a nice, smooth finish to my hair and are decently priced. Remington always has great straighteners!

These straighteners are absolutely brilliant, just remember the padlock icon
Arrived well packaged, exactly as is shown. These straighteners are absolutely brilliant, just remember the padlock icon. I have very thick, frizzy, curly hair and I am not kidding, these straighteners work wonders. I do use argan oil on my hair before drying, then I straighten it. I would recommend buying some and it can be purchased very cheap from certain pound stores. Try it and see the difference. I find also that these straighteners do not snag on my hair and that I don't even need to to section it off first but that is on 230 temperature. Well worth the money considering they should be just short of £100. I love them :) x ****EDIT**** So I bought these in 2016 and they are still working great, just thought I’d update because a few months ago (and it’s 2023 now) I noticed a little switch at the plug end of the straighteners. You close the straighteners when finished and cooled and move this switch and it keeps them closed, easy to pack away. All this time I used these and I did not notice this switch until recently 🙈*****

Best straighteners I've had
These are by far the best hair straighteners I've had and this is coming from someone who have very frizzy hair so I have to straighten my hair every day. I've been using hair straighteners for many years and have had different brands throughout the years (Philips, ghd, babyliss and many more), about 5 years ago I received these exact straighteners as a present and was really impressed by them but sadly 2 days ago they broke, the wire snapped in the lead somewhere but until that happened I had no issues so I decided to order same ones. I would have 5 star rating but the only issue I have is that when the straighteners arrived I was surprised that it's European plug rather uk one and nowhere in description it was mentioned that so I will return these, I don't tried this particular product due plug so can't really compare if the one I had is the same as these.

European plug
Ordered these as they were recommended to me by my sister. Was really looking forward to using them as my ghd straighteners are nearing 10 years old. Opened up the box to find they sent me a European version and not uk. Meaning I now have to spend more money on a plug to get these things to even switch on. My sister on the other hand was sent the uk version. No where in the description does it say these are European or that you might end up with a European version. Misleading and literally wasting people’s time and money
