This is a great Arabic reader; it guides you through the original text of Ibn Battuta and makes it easy to understand the text by providing a vocabulary list and questions that help in comprehension. I’m finding it to be very helpful and enjoyable. Im at an intermediate level and the text has been challenging but the exercises in the book make it easier to understand. I would recommend it!

I received the book but wasn’t expecting it to be for such an advanced level. I thought it would be a side by side reader but instead, it has ibn Battuta’s texts with workbook sections involving translations and interpretations for the reader. I, however, am not disappointed with this purchase and would recommend this book to intermediate to advanced level Arabic learners. I do believe this is an effective way to learn Arabic vocabulary and interpret Classical Arabic.

I like the book, but I was hoping it would be one page Arabic and the other page English, so that one would get the full feeling of what he wrote. Nevertheless it is a good book with experts of his writing of his travels. It is more of a textbook.
