Amazing Customer Service ... but ...
Updated Review: From a 2 to a 5The BAD:After I got it and tried to install it—it didn't work and my heart sank. "AGAIN?" ... after a ton of tinkering with different cords and variations of plugging into different ports for about 2 hours, something clicked. "Check the monitor settings, duh." I literally just had to switch the settings on the monitor to direct it to the correct port. It seems fairly obvious, but when you're used to plug and play and don't have any previous experience with docking stations, it didn't occur to me.The issue is that the product doesn't come with any instructions. Zero (except for a little card that tells you to download their software (more about this later). It makes absolutely no sense to me; if they spent just a tiny bit of money on printing out a quick start guide, they'd probably have a lot fewer returns. Especially for folks who are not tech-savvy. I can't be the first and only person to run into these issues with installation. Now, issue number 2. The software. You have to download the software DisplayLink Manager in order to even use the docking system. "Okay," I thought. "No biggie." And it really isn't an issue setting that up. However, the problems begin to arise should you want to watch a show on Prime, Netflix, Hulu, or any other streaming service. Your data is being recorded through this app, so they can't apparently let you stream copyright material (even though they claim the data belongs to you and doesn't go anywhere). This isn't a major issue for me since I use my computer mostly for work and I can still watch YouTube. However, I don't know why it's necessary to have to download software to use this. There has to be a better solution. I did not know I would lose some internet freedoms by having a dock. So that's a pretty big negative. The GOOD:Customer service with this company is amazing. After trying two different dock variations (neither of which I could get to work with my BenQ monitor) customer support contacted me and literally gave me a free $170 docking station that they claimed would work with my computer. The good thing is that my desktop is way more efficient and clean, with a lot fewer cords coming out of everywhere. Also, the ability to jack into the provided ethernet port on the dock is a huge plus, as my internet speeds went up dramatically. The product feels very sturdy and has that solid construction one looks for with expensive products.Overall, I'm very happy and I am comfortable giving this 5 stars because the customer service is absolutely amazing. If theyvmake a few adjustments, these products would be absolutely amazing. That's my honest review and take.

Highly Recommend, for quality and reliability
Quality, Functionality, space-saving, solidly built—the company confirmed before sending that it would work with MacBook. I just gained back several inches of my small desktop, and now I am working seamlessly between my MacBook, iPad, and large monitor. The tangle of cords is gone, and the hub produces a stable and clean connection.

A great dock + stand combo that needs a bit of refinement
This laptop dock and stand is, though minimal, very nice. The hinges are definitely strong with mine being able to directly support a 10lb dumb bell without collapsing - so you probably won't be able to adjust it without removing your laptop from it. The USB-C cable's length was well thought out and hits a good balance of length vs utility i.e. it is long enough to reach your laptop's port while managing to not get in the way. It's also fairly thick when collapsed, I wouldn't consider it non-portable but it's definitely not as portable as the marketing material claims (about 1.5" thick). The dock itself is a bit difficult to remove from the stand but I don't think that's a deal breaker as you'll most likely never remove it. It's also worth mentioning that although the hinges are strong, the stand still has a lot of bounce (as expected) if you need to use your laptop's integrated keyboard.I see little utility in the 360 degree rotation functionality. Why is it of little utility? because it is meant to be used with a monitor and rotating the stand also rotates the dock with all of the connected cables. It also clicks whilst rotating, which I find to be a minor annoyance. However, if you are just using the stand functionality then it may be useful to you - I just didn't find it useful. There were no drivers that were installed, and everything was plug-and-play with one exception - the NIC. The NIC on the dock appears to not support VLANs properly without a driver update from REALTEK. However, after updating the drivers I was able to get up and running. I can confirm that the NIC functions as normal without the driver update if VLANs aren't a requirement. This may prove problematic for people who need VLAN support and do not have elevated user access to their machine.Strangely, the box lists SD/TF support, but there is no such connection on the dock. They don't advertise such support on the product listing before buying, so I'm not docking any points here.My closing thoughts here are: The dock and stand are great. A bit on the expensive side when compared to other similar products, and I believe TOBENONE needs to re-evaluate their listing price for this product in order to compete. My price point was $89.99 - 30% ($62.99 total) at the time of purchase. I don't know how the quality of other products compare, but I do know that this is one of the higher priced, before any discounts, dock and stand combos currently listed as of writing this review.Pros- The dock and stand are made of what seems to be quality material.- The actual dock can disconnect from the laptop stand.- The stand's hinge strength was able to withstand a 10lb dumb bell without collapsing.- Dock was able to handle 3440 x 1440 @ 75Hz resolution just fine.- Rubber Feet and rubber protectors on the stand prevent the stand and your laptop from sliding.- Well packagedCons- VLAN doesn't work out-of-the-box on (Windows), and require drivers.- The stand has a lot of bounce if you need to use the laptop's keyboard whilst on the stand.- Clicking when rotating (this is subjective, of course).- A bit on the thicker side when collapsed - not as portable as TOBENONE claims. How future iterations could improve:- A headphone/microphone jack- including a USB-C power supply for power delivery- An additional HDMI port would add a lot of value
